So I'm working on expanding a little npc village on an island, and I moved all but two villagers far from town into a little trading area. The two remaining were intended to repopulate the village, but they seem...Confused.
There are well over 9 doors in the area that should each be counted as houses, and one of the villagers seems to flash in and out of love mode randomly. He'll run up to the other one, appear to be ignored and then the hearts will go away. I've seen this happen more than four times in a single Minecraft day. Are they glitched, or is it possible that I'm doing something wrong? Last I knew, villagers would breed until there was a villager for every three doors in the area, and I've never had problems with breeding them before.

I was gonna make a cool signature pic...But then I got bored and discovered Dragon Cave.
It takes time for these things. They have to get to know each other before they rub noses, but seriously confine them in a small space and afk or do something around that spot while you wait. They both have to be in love mode to breed, like any other animal (dog, pig, cow). It can take a while, but be patient. It will happen. Also make sure the villagers can "see" the doors. They must be within 16 blocks of a door for them to see it.

The 16 blocks radius might be why the one that was going into love mode seemed to drop out of it when the pair moved a couple blocks over. I'll try fencing them in again and building a few more houses closer together, maybe that's my problem.
My end goal is to have a decent population of vanilla villagers to lock in my market area of town before I start introducing more sentient Minecraft Comes Alive villagers.
Thank you guys!

Ha.
^ XD Perhaps if they weren't both male I'd have more luck?

Well there's your problem. Just kidding minecraft is genderless! Yay!
Sounds cool, your welcome!
I advise going afk or somewhere long enough so you're not having to just stand there (make yourself safe)
