I have been on these forums for a while now, and I haven't seen anyone mention this method of de-updating minecraft.

Warning!: This will cause a "Rollback" which deletes some of your work!

1.Type %appdata% and go to roaming.
2.Go to your bin.
3.Right-Click you Minecraft.jar and go to "Properties".
4.Go to the "Restore Previous Version" tab.
5.Select the first Minecraft Version then click restore. WARNING: Look at the date of the version you are restoring! If it's to far back (Like 30 days back), then you will lose all your work between the two time periods!
AGAIN, THIS MAY CAUSE A HUGE AMOUNT OF WORK LOST, OR JUST A FEW BLOCKS REMOVED, CHECK THE DATE BEFORE YOU RESTORE!
Note:If you restore a version, you cannot get your "old" one back.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Note2:I am not sure, but if you backup your saves, then restore, then use your back-up-ed saves, you may not lose any work. I have not tested this yet.
Figured this out a while back, but most people want to go back to versions they DIDN'T have...
Well, I made this mainly because in the modding forums, I kept on seeing people asking for how they de-updated their minecraft so they could use an outdated mod. I have no idea, at all, how to go back to a verion that they didn't have though...
i could not get to that part of properties. can you help me please? :sad.gif:
This is a vista/windows7 feature where it would automatically backup certain parts of your computer whenever you perform a windows update so that if problems occur, it can rollback to a previous version. These snapshots do take up a lot of hard disk space.

It backs up stuff on your computer so when you update it, if something goes wrong, it can roll it back.
If I'm understanding correctly. If I'm wrong, sorry-- I don't use Windows.
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.

Probably not...I don't know.
