Skeletons do have one of the best AI programs I have seen in minecraft. They love to hide behind corners where you cant see them. I have never seen one open a door or climb a ladder. They can shoot through doors if they are pressed against it, but not much else.
If you didn't know, about the door thing, from one side of the door you can press up against it and you can attack from it, mobs can do this too. But only from one specific side. So to make sure that you have the ability to attack through the door but mobs can't, you have to place the door from the outside. The door in the picture was placed from the inside, which is why the skeleton is attacking.
I'm glad they still lacked the co-ordination skills to open a door. Otherwise, no where's safe now. We now have to resort to 1X2 holes, IN OUR OWN BASE.
No! Not that! ANYTHING but that!

I love Blizzard, but god help me, WoW is a giant money engine that uses human souls as fuel.

Hmm didn't know that... I always put my door on the outside.

You placed your door from the inside. It means any and all monsters can attack you through that door if you stand close enough.
not only can skeletons open doors and climb ladders, zombies can now infect other mobs to become zombies themselves, ghasts can now charge up their fireball to break through stone blocks when necessary, spiders now cannibalize their own in order to grow in power, zombie pigmen will organize into well-coordinated search and destroy teams with weapons open (when hostile), and creepers will develop the ability to determine *certain* eigenvalues of the voxel-based matrix that is the minecraft world.
And dont get me started on spider jockeys, who will no doubt grasp the fundamental concepts of annular fusion within a couple of updates.
Sig'd.
Skeletons can't open doors, btw.

They can't even hold their bow the proper way. But zombies can.

It's hard waiting around for something that you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up when you know it's everything you ever wanted.
The same thing just happened to me. I heard the door noise and looked up. A flaming skeleton was in the doorway! I don't have pressure plates or buttons at all on either side.
i don't video every single second of Minecraft... i don't even know how to really. not with HD quality at least.
