Mesa has reinvigorated my excitement in Minecraft, partly because it's new and exciting and partly because I like Clint Eastwood movies. I recently found a seed from someone for a good mesa with a lot of structures. However, I have found the mesa very impractical in hardcore mode and I have almost died at least five times, due to mobs being able to hide easily, and once they find you, it's hard to get away from them without taking fall damage. There also seems to be a very high mob spawn rate in this biome, but I might be wrong.
There is no easy access to trees without climbing a big hill, which saps hunger and makes you vulnerable to mobs There are also no food mobs like chickens and cows, so you have to grow your own food, which is hard because you have to climb a hill for dirt and go back down for water.

This is the seed I'm using: -1251751086
I included a map, and all the stuff I have so far.
I'm going to keep walking until I find a better biome, and I might share my experiences here as well
Sounds like you're having fun. Also sounds like you're taking too many risks if you've died 5 times in hardcore on the same world. On hardcore you have to minimize risks, especially early on until you get established. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like mesas will make for a fun time!
I'm off to make a mesa-only hardcore world and see if I like it better than frozen river.
