I built a house in a creative world and I want some feedback and criticism before I build it in my survival world. This is my original.

Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.
Since I'm afraid that some people don't read all of my posts before replying, here's what it looks like now. (I'll change this spoiler every time I change my house)
Get rid of the glowstone. Use lamps or torches instead. Try putting them in the ceiling instead. The walls also feel really boring, what with the all red, even red windows and carpets. Try sourcing different colors that would match more, like oranges or browns or the sucher. Try putting things on the walls to make them less boring, like paintings or trapdoors, or things like that. Try making the house feel bigger. Cause right now it feels really small, even for me, which I have most of my houses underground or otherwise in small places. Even those feel bigger than that house.
Also, bit of advice, type "/gamerule commandBlockOutput false" into chat. This turns command block notifications to admins off, allowing you to not see:
I agree there is too much of the same color. You could break it up a little with paintings, item frames, or bookshelves on the walls. I would change the floor to contrast more with the ceiling. You could also add a different colored carpet to the floor. I also agree the glowstone hangs a little low. I would either recess it into the ceiling or make the ceiling higher. However, that usually is not sufficient lighting to prevent mob spawns, so maybe torches are the way to go. I would also use cobblestone or stone brick around the fireplace. They both have stair blocks you can use to help shape into something other than a square. This would also help to break up all the redness. You could also add some skinny windows. By that I mean one block wide from floor to ceiling. I'm curious to see after photos to see what you come up with. Good luck!
I kinda agree with JordanVonS, apart from being very claustrophobic in height (for me), the biggest problem is the floor being in the color range. His advice is on point, the floor needs to be changed. With whatever floor you choose if you change it, if it's another wood, try using a different wood for the furniture also, it should compliment the floor not blend into it.

Can somebody come up with a good wall design that uses mainly red stained clay with windows and touches of gray, and post a screenshot of it? I really don't think stone brick stripes or checkers is a good idea.

Due to my weird resource pack, these are the only paintings I can get. Are you sure they'll help?
In that case, probably not. You could do some item frame stuff. I like to use fish, clocks, and flowers. If I have a big wall, I like to do some kind of weapons grouping.
The trick is to add detail. Here I've merely added a "foundation" block, a "pillar" block, put four trapdoors on each glowstone, and placed a few paintings (these could be substituted with maps of random areas).
Edit: Please excuse the excessive FOV. I've gotten too used to it.

First come up with a 'Theme' for your house. Depending on where you build it.. and what biome. Then try and use multiple materials that are found in that location.
Also, I find it best to start with a very small house... get the basic design and materials down.. then you can expand on it.
I finally decided to make the ceiling 4 meters from the floor and I changed the lights to glowstone again. I've tried to replace most of the wall with stone brick while leaving clay "pillars" like the ones described in voxel's guide and some of the above posts. Here it is currently.
Should I leave the lights like this or place them directly on the ceiling? Should I change them to sea lanterns? Should I remove the trapdoors? Is there anything else I should consider changing?
It never hurts to add extras here and there but it is also important to remember not to over clutter
.
Try differenciating the walls! Flat walls are the number 1 mood killer in minecraft.
I would recommend a different text of perhaps a half block of something lining the wall either at the floor or ceiling (stone works quite well!!)
That being said, to further give your walls more detail, add some window panes (rather than just glass blocks). It's will look better and plus your glass goes a longer way!
You can even dye the glass if you want.
Try searching for a dog (wolf) or a cat (ocelot) they can spruce the place up and make it feel less lonely in some cases.
Also, focus on one room at a time from start to finish.
Example: for a kitchen you would need certain details that other rooms wouldn't have like:

I'm already using glass panes, a refrigerator, an oven, and a sink. Look at the pictures a little more carefully.

I changed some stuff, mostly adding detail, making it look more realistic, or both. Here's how it turned out.
The computer in my study now runs Minecraft.
The only problem I still think I have is that my interior still looks too red. I wanted to use more stone brick, but I'm not sure where to put it.

Looking good. I would go with some carpet and paintings. That should break up the redness.

Change ALL the walls to stone brick. The red just doesn't work.

And support the ability to add paintings and records!
The wood blocks really help. Lookin' good.

I think you still need a higher ceiling. 4 or 5 blocks high will make it feel much more spacious.
