Keyofdoor and only Keyofdoor is allowed to have me on his avatar.
I almost totally knew what to expect, but that didn't stop me from having to build a dirt tower because I couldn't find coal. That was a really long night, needless to say.

hi mynameischiefcheese i would relaly liek
tursted thanks.
When I first began minecraft, I was used to classic. Having no clue you had to HOLD the button to break blocks, I fooled around and tried to figure out how to actually play. I killed some pigs, cows, and then I saw a sheep. So I killed it and got wool.
When the sun set over the grassy plains, I felt a horrible twitch of fear at the zombies spawning in the distance. So i then found a nice little place to take shelter and sealed it with the 3 wool i had.
I know. I was an epic noob.

Just out of curiosity... do you still have that world? You should cartographer it to see how far you actually wandered.
I had a few moments nearly like that in my current world. If I traverse a nearby snowy mountain I enter a seemingly never ending expanse of the arctic. It's flanked by a likewise barren steppe. I'd nearly been lost to that abyss a few times now, though thankfully never for more than a day before I find my way home.
I had heard about the game many times. But was certain I wouldn't be interested in a building only game.
Watched a video of it. Guy made a shelter and zombies cam and attacked and stuff. Tried it out.
But my first day was pretty much I made a based in the side of a hill. Collected whatever I could. This was back when leaves didn't unspawn right . So I spent a lot of time destroying them. Didn't really know any recipes and the game didn't offer any hints. All I figured out was wood, sticks, work bench that first day.
I also thought that saplings were used in a crafting recipe.
I chopped some wood, gathered some cobblestone, got come coal, got some iron, got some gold, got some redstone, made a circuit, got some diamonds, made some stuff, got some obsidian, got some netherrack, got some glowstone, got some lava, got burned in the lava, died, lost all my progress.....
I'd done some reading on the wiki so the first thing I did was dig a hole in sand and make a little shelter (didn't know about doors), went out, got some coal / stone, hid in my hut not knowing when was day or night (just blocked off the door with dirt), and waited.
I started playing classic, until i figured out it was building only, so i built a little pillar for nothing. A few months later i bought the full game, I looked around I made another dirt pillar like that wait for night to fall so I could battle zombies, Little did i know that there are more creatures than that. So I saw multiplayer and decided to play it, I found a good server and I built a little house and a mining area there, some guy kindly gave me a diamond pick, but I thought it was a recloured pick so I just used it just like stone pick, not really caring much about it. So i decided to start a SSP world, I made a little wooden box for a home, I build one story ontop of it to enter a mine shaft, I started mining, after 6 seconds of mining I came across my first cave, with 3 zombies lurking in it, I killed them and found alot of Iron, I had no clue what to do with it so I was like "Huh, What is this ****?" and I just threw it out my door paying no attention to it's value, I stop playing after that getting bored of it. I came back to the game and found out that there was a Wiki so i studied up on it for a while, I found out nearly everything and memerized every recipe. I then found out about peaceful mode so i set it onto that and started expanding my house. currently were my house is is now a kigdom ruled by me.
Started a new world, punched trees and dirt without success, looked up tutorial video to punch trees and dirt.
Night hit, my cousin told me zombies came out at night so i freaked out and froze in plaze, a bit away from a group of 6 zombies that spanwed on the same island. One came after me, and i killed it with my first, then another came a bit later and i died.
After learning i had to hold down the button and daylight hit, i built sand, dirt, and wood boxes for a bit, then heard from my cousin the box in the corner makes stuff on aim, and was told how to make a workbench and pickaxe.
I decided a new world was in order, because i had just learned how to play properly, and had looked up the basic torches and other tools in a video. So i started a new world, and wandered around until i founda epic volcano, where i thought, this IS my new home. I built a wooden house a bit off from the lava cause i didnt want it to burn like the floating tree wood i saw around the volcano.
And i found the wiki after that and there ended my NEWBIE days.
my first night wasn't exactly so eventfull... because of a jammed mouse button i learned how to break blocks, random button pressing led me to placing them... so i built a little house, (why not right?) and waited out the night.
first night i saw a spider approaching my house, saw my health drop when it hit me and ran into my house, filled the door, and hid all night... after that i asked around a bit and learned some extremely basic stuff (how to craft tools/torches) and then found the wiki.
I watched every single x video before I even bought the game, so i had a pretty good idea of what to do.
But I didn't.
I tried to hollow out this side of the mountain to put my base in, but with my bare hands. I finally made a base and died several times that night because i forgot to make a door. I tried to start a mine to pass the night, but forgot i needed lights so i died another two times. The next day i went out to cut down some trees, but found a little surprise waiting in my base.
A couple of creepers.
for some reason i was looking away from my base when i walked into it, and didnt notice the creepers that had spawned. Lets just say my cave grew quite a bit that day.

BACKSTORY:
I had heard about minecraft from Game Informer or something back in I estimate was the InfDev phase.
I forgot about and months later a friend told me about it and i remembered it, later i bought it.
END BACKSTORY.
All i knew was punch trees to get wood, how to make planks and that was it. i climbed on a mountain and made a one block high wall as it was getting dark. I was like, these monsters can't get up here!
6 seconds later a i get owned by a skeleton and after that experience i watched a tutorial on first night surviving.
I had been playing survial test for a while, so I knew generally what to expect, or so I thought. Didn't understand crafting all that well, so I had the minepedia open with a list of recepies. Was on with one of my buddies who had convinced me to buy the game.
My first world was an all-snow world, and I started walking on ice till I found a natural cavern on an 'island'. I started hunting for coal... didn't realize that I NEEDED Picks. Yeah, that wasn't fun. Then night came and I was scrambling to block up all the entrances to the natural cave as creepers starting walking towards me.
Fun times. Then I made a new world on peaceful, and made a huge freakin' castle.
I had watched some tutorials on how to make a shelter for your first night after around seven fail attempts I deleted the worlds and tried again, I finally made a shelter and was exploring the 'Options' I found the difficulty changed it to peaceful read the wiki to see if i'd be safe outside ever since then I never played in a difficulty unless I needed to kill something for resources.
my first day was funny). i spawned at a beach. then i went somewhere and met there a sheep. i thought, that it's a gorilla. i hat it and it dropped some wool. i thought that's very cool. then i came to a server and found there some dirt. it was very cool for me cause i didn't know that it's just dirt. then i went to a cave and picked some torches - i thought that it's generated. that was my 1st day :smile.gif: :smile.gif:
