Alright, so here's the deal.
I went and play "nomad" for a while. Just walking around for a few hours and in-game minecraft days.
As far away from my spawn as possible. Sounds like fun, right? Damn right, it is! But I didn't think it was going to be a pain in the back. I couldn't store my stuff and other things etc. etc.
Now, I've found myself a nice couple of mountains, started buildng a house (not yet finished). And then, I died.
Luckily I still have my be- OBSTRUCTED!?
Couldn't spawn, everything gone. Now I'd like to ask, is there a easy of finding houses that are several chunks away?
Please reply, I'd hate to look for such a perfect spot again.

I used a Random generator and thus, my acc name was born.
When you go off like that, leave Markers along the way. Either a trail of Torches or something else like Cobblestone. Not only will these help you travel from Spawn to your House, but in the future they may help you know where you are if you get lost again.
that happened to me once, except that i had no bed yet... lol and what i did was cheat... i used a mod to be able to fly in order to find my house and then, when i finally found it, i deleted the mod... i like playing legitly but losing my house and some diamonds... really bothered me vv
But now, if you have beta 1.8+ you can use a program to change from survival to creative and the other way around, just to be able to fly around and find your house (put some beacons to guide you home in case you die again and have no bed), and then just change the game mode back to survival. :smile.gif:
I always press F3 and remember my co-ordinates [example x:55.3 Y:345.6 Z:542.1] so if I go far away I know where to go. Also if you have torches place them just in case!
YOU sir are a GENIUS!! :| i would've never thought of that man! (i'm serious btw!) omg, finally i found a good way to use the F3 function coordinates xD! i can't believe i didn't think of that before :sad.gif:
thanks man, you really are clever :| i'll use that method from now on :biggrin.gif: thank you!
here, have some to help you on your journey! :smile.gif:
