Soooo I absolutely love the new hunger feature, but I really don't like how slowly my character seems to get hungry. It seems to take a few days which feels unrealistic. Besides, I like the challenge of trying to get enough food to survive.
Anyone know how I can fix that? :biggrin.gif:
Thank you so much in advance for any answers.
Edit: I just noticed how demanding my topic title sounds. Sorry about that. ^^;
I see you suffer from Minecraft-Anorexia.
'tis a pity. :'(
In all seriousness though, you could always recommend it as a mod, or you could just run everywhere.
Hunger goes down when you move or interact, so if you stand still organizing your chests or something, the hunger bar will be at the exact same from when you entered the chest.
Unrealistic? The average human being can go 5 days without food and only 3 days without water. After, five days without food, the human body begins to devour the nutrients that keep the body together - effectively eating itself clean of health. After 7 days without food the human being will begin to lose consciousness more often and eventually by day 8 they will die of malnutrition. So in truth the hunger feature is quite realistic.
Rotten flash. eat it only one time becouse posion dosent stack. U eat it get 2hearts and loosing 3heart. but if you eat 2 then you get 4 heart and loose 3heart. (heart = hungerbar Im lazy, Kk?) (what i sayd about the hunger is how I have seen it. I can be wrong though)
Also make sure your on 1.8 (LOOOOOOOL i know) If so run run and run.
(Sorry for double-posting)
Or you can go hunt monsters or jump and run around :biggrin.gif:
definitely this.
i go hunting for bones + gunpowder and occasionally enderpearls every night.
once daybreak, my hunger bar would normally be left with one... umm... bacon.
but during the day, when i build normally, my hunger bar doesn't really decrease that much...

I know this is an old topic, but Try the Better Than Wolves Mod. Hunger drops even if you are standing still and goes down faster if you jump or sprint.

Hunger already does go down faster when you jump and sprint, especially both at the same time; just 5 jumps while sprinting drains one hunger point (20 jumps or sprinting 40 meters otherwise (walking takes 400 meters to drain 1 point); there is no reason to sprint-jump unless you have to jump but many people do it anyway because you move like 1% faster).
In fact, I usually see threads complaining that hunger drains too fast in current versions, to the point where it is believed that there is a bug in the game. Of course in older versions before 1.6 hunger was almost irrelevant, and only in 1.7 was a bug with sprint-jumping not depleting the right amount of hunger fixed.
I cannot believe that not one person has suggested doing /effect *insert username* 17 1 4000. This will infinity give you the huger effect until you die! And the larger the 2nd number gets say 5 for example, your hunger will deplete faster. It is like eating a rotton flesh and having the effect last forever.
The ONLY things that cause hunger loss in vanilla Minecraft are listed on this page; note that moving in boats or on horses doesn't drain hunger because they aren't listed (as noted).
Wonder how this is on the second page of the forums after nearly three years?! 0_0

@TehGritz: Well, I've been mining for a few minecraft days now and I don't see my hunger bar going down at all. o.o
@Tristan09100: Ooo, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll definitely try that.
@xerox218: I'm on Hard mode and always have been, silly.
@Marttivainaa2: That sounds fun actually. 8D
