I was thinking about getting minecraft and java soon so I can play can someone help me out and tell me how much space it takes and thank you :cool.gif:
Th reason your .minecraft folder is 200mb is because of your saved worlds, and there's no way to specify how much space they will take up as they're effectively infinite (eg the more you explore the more space they take up).
Really then now it's a for sure buy what about java how much space does that take up.
It doesn't matter how much space it takes up. You need a decent amount of RAM to run it. Without a Memory cleaner you should have 2 GBs of RAM available to run it.
Why the obsession with how much space things take up?
Look I am still preatty much a kid and my dad won't let me download this beacuse he's worried are PC will slow down to much so until then I'm screwed. :sad.gif:

No I don't I tried playing classic mode and it said I needed java.
Java will take up roughly 170 MBs of space to download.
And I was referring to a PC. Just putting Far setting on for a short period of time on my computer sucks up practically all of my memory and I have roughly 800 MBs of available space in my computer from 1.5 GB total. So if you have a max of 1.5 then you will need a memory cleaner to sift out the garbage that the game saves to RAM. If you have 2 GB plus or a fast CPU then it shouldn't be an issue.
If you need a memory cleaner. CyberLat's RAMCleaner works well for me. It's free to use. The trial doesn't stop you from using it after it runs out.
Thanks also does it take extra space for mods and texture packs if so how much does it take up.
depends on what mods you get
use it

Well, if there were, it wouldn't sell almost 3 million.
