I'm currently trying to build in an rea with lots of ice, and i want to hook up some wiring for some double doors. Problem is, it goes right on the ice, and I don't know if the redstone torches will melt the ice. Do redstone torches melt ice?
The wiki says that ice will melt if it has a light level of 12 or higher, so redstone torches won't melt it. It also says that torches can't be placed directly on ice, but I'm not sure if that's just for regular torches, or for redstone torches too.

I made a particle accelerator out of raw and cooked ham, but all I ended up finding was the Piggs Bacon
I don't think so... Although, if they did, it would make for some awesome traps. Something steps on a pressure pad, lights a torch up, and the resulting icemelt washes it into a bed of cacti...

Someone steps on pressure plate, releases lava, and the icemelt washes them into a bed of LAVA.
