I just found a Mesa biome on the vanilla survival server I play on. I've been playing for a long time but not so good at building. Anyone have any ideas for a base? Any suggestions would be awesome!
Never use any naturally spawning colors of clay and never build something entirely out of clay in a mesa biome. Wood looks the best in my opinion and making some sort of native village would be pretty cool!
My original idea for my mesa base was to build inside an existing spike, but they were too thin and uneven to go very high, in the end I built a circular design on a levelled area, matching the clay layers with the layers in the biome. I think if I was doing it again I would set it into the side of a large hill or something to make it blend more.
I personally think some form of temple made of of red sandstone would look amazing.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..

1. "Sculpt" the base out of the side of a mesa river so it looks like a temple
2. Choose a river and put two walls with entrances on the river in the form of arches. Then build a castle.
3. Use a combination of cobble, stone bricks, and oak wood to create a village
Hope this helped!
