Hey there, recently i've been having trouble with my slime farm. Its on a slime chunk, below level 40, i've made 5 spawn pads and have litten up the surrounding caves. I stand about 25 blocks away and wait for 30 minutes and nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated i can send screenshots if you like. thanks
Yes, screen shots help tons. Also, what sort of "trouble"? I can assume that the spawning rates have declined? If that's the case, when did you first notice it and how long has it been going on (in Minecraft days)?
When I first set up the farm, I got lots of slimes spawning, so I decided to try to automate it a bit. I got rid of the first slime pad and added another on top. On the bottom of the farm, I added a hopper minecart contraption to pick up slime balls and added a couple iron golems to kill the slimes. Since then, ! have gotten close to none.

Slimes have a funny spawn rate that correlates with the moon phase. I know that's the case for the swamp spawning but I'm not sure if it affects spawning in slime chunks below level 40. I'll check on that. How long has this been going on?
I don't have the link but if you google slime chunk finder there is a tool that will pop up and calculate it for you based on your map seed. It will even give coords so its a very useful tool.

Yes i know, my spelling sucks.

There's the slime finder method or the old school way, which can take a loooooong time. You have to be underground, preferably a cave, and witness a slime spawn near you. Then you wait it out to see if more spawn in the area and then, using F3, you can figure out what chunk you're in and voila! The slime finder tool is easier though.
I'm having a similar problem with my slime chunk. I had all sorts of spawning when I first dug out the bottom of the chunk and now that I'm digging out more of the terrain to build the farm, the spawning seems to have stopped. It's been days and still nothing. I'm just going to give it time and after I have my perimeter I'll see what the spawning rates look like.
Does anyone know if the slime chunks move or change after an update? I don't think they do but something has to explain the spawn change.
yes i have lit up all caves and have used the server world, gone on my singleplayer world with a minimap and marked down all possible caves and lit them up. The strange thing is the slimes spawn fine in single player but have trouble in multiplayer.
I found a double slime chunk area in my spawn chunks, it produces mare slime than I know what to do with. I use layered pads surrounded a water stream system to push them in to a reducing system of lava, drowning, then a lava blade to kill the small slimes. A couple hoppers pick up the slimeballs and put them into chests.
I will note that not many but not all caves are lit up in the area.

Oooooh. I think that explains it. You only have trouble in multiplayer. If there are other players in the world, the game has to take their position into consideration. When you have other players in different spots in the same world there is a "spawning sphere" with each player and the spawning rules apply to each. The more players there are the more spread out the spawning becomes and it will affect things like mob farms. If you must have more than one player in a world, I think the solution would be to have everyone at the same location. That way the mob spawning sphere for all will be relatively the same and the spawning rates should be somewhat like a single player world. The next time you're in multiplayer try having everyone be near the slime farm, if you can. See if that helps the spawning rates, although those other guys may not want to just hang around your farm......

"It's not enough you have the will to care. What are you going to do to show it?"
