Yea, of course. Right after I finally get settled into a new world...
Looking really good, though, and that house looks amazing. I'm looking forward to following along with your "boring" thread, I think it'll be great if your last one is anything to judge by. Good luck.

Time to start a new world, I guess.
I remember you too. Nice to see you again. And lol, please tell me you know there's rabbits as well. And as of a the past couple days in 14w30a there is now banners in the game as well. I'm excited. I want to get a creeper head one, but that's going to be a future goal (they made it so you can legitly obtain mob heads too, which you need for the creeper head banner).
And because of all the feedback I've been getting about this house, which may I remind you guys is just a starter house on my first real update and there's a lot more to come, it's given me a lot of motivation to make this journal especially "boring" for you guys.
Also, don't start a new world, just go out into the nether or something a couple thousand blocks away and explore new chunks. don't give up on a world just when a new feature comes out.

In further development of this journal, I've come yo find out that the "continent" where the village is was the start of the main land area, I found out that I was terribly wrong. and rather it is just another plains island, but very large. I managed to kill a lot of cows during this discovery.
In other news, I mentioned this in my video but not in the journal. Due to being on small islands with little to no mobs, I've actually seen the passive mobs spawn on my island, but initially I only had 3 cows. Through out the time I've been on this world, I've had sheeps, rabbits, amd more cows spawn on my island. I'm currently in a forest biome, and my spawn island, whixh is roughly 30 blocks away from the islsnd i live on. The other island, my spawn island, is a plains. I've been attempting to get horses to spawn on it since my passive mob count isnt at cap yet. So far ive had more cows amd chickens spawn on the plains island, and I'm doong what I can to keep passive mob count low to promote more spawning in the plains.

Yea, checked all the fancy new features that are coming up. Banners sound awesome, I'll be using those a lot.. and I'm just gonna stick it out on my world, when the official update comes out I'll travel around through the nether; I've got a huge project going and I don't want to restart haha.
I'll have to check out your youtube when I get a chance, my internet isn't the best.
Are you planning on doing aesthetic builds as well as what you've listed for your projects?

So as a small update, I havent been able to do much work in the world over the past few days, because I've been working in creative on something else for this world, and I'm going to be able to knock off something on the project list.
I've designed my own universal mob farm which in best conditions will get 16000 items per hour. Which is just absolutely incredible. Especially because its incredibly easy to build and resource friendly.
So the next thing I'll be doing in my world is to build this beauty of a mob farm in my world, and making a tutorial for the farm.

Hey, ladies and gentlemen, I've got another update for you today. A little bit of a shorter one because I've been swamped IRL with finals and project for school but I'm all done now and have time to knock out some big projects here in the upcoming week or two.
Anyways before we begin, I mentioned that I designed a mob farm which can get up to 16000 items per hour, which I still think is incredible. Well, I'm just going go ahead and be upfront and let you know that isn't happening in today's update. Or probably the next one or two as well. As much as I'd love to get working on it, I'm going to need a lot more iron for a proper looting system which this thing deserves. But in case anyone wants check it out, the link is here at for the tutorial.
So yeah, that's been put off for just now. It's still going to happen very soon, once I get more iron. Which brings me to today's update
Update 3 - The planning phase
I got tired of the island being flat and boring, so I unflattened it.
Also did a little work around the house, threw in some grass, flowers, trees, a little hidden lighting, and started a little road. The road is going to lead up to the nether portal soon, don't worry. I'm not just building a road to no where. The wall of sugar cane on the right will be gone eventually as well. I have more teraforming plans for the island, which they're directly in the way of, so they gotta get going here soon.
Yep.. that's definitely a cow on my dock.
Started a little bit on the dock. I kinda lost inspiration after a week of not being able to work on the house / dock, but in the past couple hours I've actually come up with some ideas on how I want to build this. So maybe it will get finished in the next update or so.
I'm a kidnapper. Went to the village on that other island not too far off and kidnapped a few villagers. Got some to breed up and I believe I'm up to 6 now. This is the beginnings of the iron farm. I just need like 40-50 of these guys now and we'll be set. I also have a little bit of some other plans with maybe 10-20 of these guys on the side, but I'm only mentioning that to foreshadow a future project of mine.
I found a zombie spawner while caving.. tada? This was just something I threw together quickly to grind out some experience. Probably the most basic trap you can get. I wanted a fall damage trap instead of a piston crusher one for once so if I just needed a bit of exp I can just kill a few when they falls rather than waiting on a bunch to gather up, close the trap, crush them, kill them, and finally reopen it. Also I was being cheap because I don't have many slime balls and I need them for the iron and universal mob farms.
Finally, I picked out a spot for my universal mob farm to be built in the near future. The far side of that island in the distance is where I plan on building it. So i went ahead and lit it up and started clearing a bit of it out. The reason why it's over there is, simply because I didn't want it in my spawn chunks.
Most of the rest of the time I've been actually able to play I've spent mostly caving, and now enchanting since I've started on that now. Like I said, it's been a busy week, so when I did have time to play, I mostly just gathered resources and lit up caves to prepare for the underwater structure farm in the future.

Hey the area around your house is looking pretty nice, I like how you built a dock. I just noticed you had LP videos, and I'll have to go check those out. By the way that mob farm is epic, and I'll be saving up resources to build one just like that myself once I start playing on a new world.

Lol, well then you're going to hate / love my next update.. Been working on making the island and the dock look nice all afternoon. Here's a little sneak peak.
Built a nice entrance for the nether portal.
A little bit of a closer view. Sadly, the SS's really don't do much justice for this build because you can't see much of the detail that I put into it. Ignore the dirt in the ocean and the little dug out spot next to the road, I'm extending the island, and adding another road to the portal from my dock.
And worked on the dock, the roads, and adding in some plant life to the area so it's not so desolate any more.

I want to keep a record of thing is I'm going to RS Gold achieve on this, which I will upgrade as well as I finish tasks and begin new ones.I think it is suitable that I develop some kind of a docking station to seafood off of though. Which I'll probably do for fun here soon.

I kinda thought today's update would include a little more aesthetic work, but it turned out that it took a turn to the redstone / mechanics side. I already posted the pics of the terraforming I did and the nether portal entrance. I did a tiny work on furnishing my house though as well since then
The view as you walk inside.
The living room. I'm not sure if I like the colors here for both the table and the chair, and really wish I had some spruce to work with. Oh well, it can be changed later on.
The kitchen. I need a little bit more black wool to put carpets on top of the furnaces. Again, I'm not sure how I feel about the birch and may try changing out the color pallet. I have a little more more options now rather than when I made this from exploring and actually finding the real land this time. I ended up getting acacia and dark oak. So maybe one of those.. or again wait until I get spruce. The floors also seem very boring so I may do something with it as well. I don't have a huge selection of materials since I have been mainly confined to the local islands though.
So, today we get to knock off something from the projects list! I got the iron farm built and running (after 2 tries).
Got all the villagers in place. I don't even want to go into how long moving 46 villagers actually took.
Wow, the island looks stunning from up here. I love it, and the terraforming and everything for the island isn't even finished yet. I gotta remember to get back up here when I finish terraforming and get another SS.
And.. it's done.
It makes me happy to see these guys burning.
I think I need a little explanation on what I've done here before the next picture. I took Tangotek's new 1.8 iron farm design, the Iron Titan, which you can overlap 32 or 64 villages and made some slight alterations to make it overlap just 6 villages, since 32 or even 64 overlapping villages would be enough to supply a huge server with iron and still have more to spare, and this saved me a ton of time and resources to build and is still putting out more iron than I can even use. There was one problem with only chaining up 6 villages though, and that is that it just barely doesnt produce enough flowers to spit through the nether portal to prevent the villages from merging. So I added this in..
I put in about 12 chickens standing on a hopper, feeding into the dropper in order to keep the dropper from being empty. It only takes 10 chickens laying eggs without the assistance of the flowers from the iron farm to spit an egg through about every 50 seconds without ever actually running out, so because of this I had to also put in an "overflow" system for the eggs, which will stop the hopper from pulling eggs in for a while until the dropper gets below the threshold again. However, I'm thinking of just changing it to dispense a bunch of items through the portal instead until the dropper reaches a certain threshold again, as that will be better overflow protection and the other side in the nether just drops it right into a lava lake anyways.
I started digging out an area for my cow farm. I would have gone ahead and completed it but I need a bunch of dispensers and I have very little string, and if I use it all and then can't repair my bow I will not be happy at all. So once I get my universal mob farm built here (probably by next update) I'll go ahead and finish this.
Had to set up a little bit of an automatic farm because I had no truly automatic farms running which was driving me nuts, and I needed paper for villager trading since I processed every villager I may have wanted to keep (librarians mainly, and then 1 of each of the other important ones). I've now got some very awesome villagers that I kept instead of putting them in the iron farm. Some of the notable ones I have are a librarian with a 24 paper trade, who has 2 infinity book trades some how (one for 9 emeralds and one for 18 emeralds). Between the other librarians I have power 5, looting 3, feather falling 3, efficiency 2, sharpness 5, and some other less imporant book trades. And then some of the new "smith" guys when I found the pieces with good enchants on them, and one really awesome cleric villager.

Need a good universal mob farm? Check out the Double Shift Towers. Designed for 1.9 and gets 22,000 Items / Hour with a very simple redstone set up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL8aoJpjjgU
Everything you've done is awesome! Keep up the good work!
