Ok, so I have this mob arena I am building that is also going to serve as a horse race track(I use Mo Creatures) and a mob battlefield. My problem is that I wanted to keep a bit of symmetry with the arena but the current mob spawning part isn't really spawning anything. Right now it is 19x30x18ish I say ish because it tapers off toward the end and at the top. My idea was to tower the mob spawner zone so it would be 19x30xwhatever. My question is what do you all think, I have been reading the forums for awhile now and there have been a lot of good ideas and have personally just need some constructive criticism. Here are some pics and if they don't show up I will change them.

Thanks I would like to add more style but this drained all of my cobblestone reserves just to make it, I may change it up soon a bit but I am also building a medium sized city right next to it and that's taking up a lot of my non cobblestone supplies.
If you are already using mobs, I don't see why you wouldn't use mob spawners too.
It may not fit in your plans, but here's an idea me and a friend came up with recently:
By taking advantage of slow sand traps (read Wiki), we will make a 3x3 tower.
On the top, a single block of slow sand with a skeleton spawner below.
Above that, a floating roof that makes the skeleton unable to escape.
If done right, the skeleton will only spawn on the slow sand. You now have an arrow tower.
Of course, there are a few problems... Unless the roof is very big, it will only work at night.
And the skeletons may spawn in the wrong places, so you will need to prevent that somehow.
That is a good idea may have to try it out in addition to. I just realized i missed a detail in how the arena would work. Using the principal like in the skytrap the mobs would spawn then be pushed through two doors with water. I though about replicating the skytrap on the ground but it didn't seem right. I also wanted to create a way to change the difficulty via levers before the doors open, i.e easy, medium and hard. Easy would open 2 levels, medium would open 4 levels and hard 6. I envision entering the arena and before reaching the middle a huge group of mobs spitting out the door with no end. And i might just do it with mob spawners but I want to try it legit first since everything else I have built has been.
