So i've been thinking for a while, and i noticed a lot of effects can't be gained via potion. But adding more potions would, i feel, make too many recipies, thus adding confusion. So why not add a way to make one type of potion better. How would you do this? You might ask. And i would say, "why add a new item of course!
Anyhow, since netherwart makes potions, Endwart (basically netherwart that grows in the end.) would upgrade them. It would simply grow on endstone, just like netherwart on soulsand. (what's that? a use for endstone? Bonus!) You simply brew your endwart into a completed non-time/power extended potion (it can be after) and it gets upgraded! Here is a list I have compiled for upgraded potion effects: Upgraded STRENGTH: Adds haste as an effect. You know not only punch with super strength, but mine too! Upgraded SPEED: Adds jump boost as an effect. Run and Jump at great power! Upgraded REGENERATION: Adds resistance as an effect. Now you can regenerate less, and fight more! Upgraded FIRE RESISTANCE: Adds water breathing as an effect. Now you're water and lava proof! Upgraded NIGHT VISION: Adds Radar as an effect. Allows you to detect mobs within 25 blocks, Eat them carrots kids! Upgraded INVISIBILITY: Adds invisi-stension as an effect. Makes things you hold invisible! Upgraded HEALING: Adds anti-negative as an effect. Removes negative potion effects! Upgraded POISON: Adds anti-positive as an effect. Removes positive potion effects! Upgraded WEAKNESS: Adds Jello-Sword as an effect. Swords do 1/2 heart of damage. Ready that axe! Upgraded SLOWNESS: Adds nausea as an effect. Sickeningly slow... Upgraded HARMING: Adds armorless as an effect, the harming potion ignores armor protection, and your next 2 hits.
So folks, what do you think? Please leave feedback, it's appreciated!
Glowstone upgrades through "tiers" (I.E, Speed I, II, and III) and Redstone increases time when used with a brewing stand, however using glowstone decreases time and using redstone decreases strength. Your problem is solved.

That has absolutely nothing to do with this topic, other than that it involves potions, and i mentioned it. It doesn't add any of the effects you can only get from the stupid beacon, or are just in the code/planned. Plus, you can add those to the upgraded potions. Please read the post first...

Upgraded SPEED: Adds jump boost as an effect. Run and Jump at great power! It would be awesome to jump 2 blocks. Upgraded REGENERATION: Adds resistance as an effect. Now you can regenerate less, and fight more! Now you can be even more powerful. Upgraded FIRE RESISTANCE: Adds water breathing as an effect. Now you're water and lava proof! Liquid resistance would also be good. Upgraded NIGHT VISION: Adds Radar as an effect. Allows you to detect mobs within 25 blocks, Eat them carrots kids! Mobs would be super bright and you could see invisible players. Upgraded INVISIBILITY: Adds invisi-stension as an effect. Makes things you hold invisible, and makes you silent! It sounds a bit OP, maybe you should still make sounds. Upgraded HEALING: Adds anti-negative as an effect. Removes negative potion effects! I wanted a potion that removed effects. Upgraded POISON: Adds anti-positive as an effect. Removes positive potion effects! I think you meant upgraded harming. Upgraded WEAKNESS: Adds Jello-Sword as an effect. Swords do 1/2 heart of damage. Ready that axe! Makes axes an actual weapon, axes shouldn't take double damage though. Upgraded SLOWNESS: Adds nausea as an effect. Sickeningly slow... Support. Upgraded HARMING: Adds armorless as an effect. YOUR ARMOR DON'T COUNT NOTHIN SON! WAY to OP, and I think you meant poison.
So folks, what do you think? Please leave feedback, it's appreciated!
I agree with you now on invisibility, you still should make noise. For Poison, it does what i listed it to do, it was never meant for harming. Harming was the one i was most worried about, because i was less clear on it than I should have been. It means the harming potion, ignores armor, not everything ignores armor. thanks for the critique!
I kind of support this but Endwart sounds really terrible, just a cheap copy of Nether Wart. I think you should use Lapis Lazuli or something else to access these new tiers.
Yeah, why everyone pick up something that already exists, adds End or Ender in the front and trow in The End?
Anyway, maybe some efects need to be balanced, but I liked.
Plus: In my opinion the actual system of potion is a bit awkward.

The reasoning behind the endwart was that you need netherwart to brew in the first place, plus it would give the end some purpose other than a boss fight. Lapis is too easy to get for things like this, you need something harder to find, and brewing your potion with diamonds sounds like a bad idea, doesn't it.
But end wart is hugely unoriginal, think bigger. Perhaps a new ore in the end? A new mob?
Refer back to the first line of that quote..."The reasoning behind the endwart was that you need netherwart to brew in the first place..." Shouldn't you use something similar to upgrade? I'm not saying it necessarily has to be exactly the same, maybe it could drop from a mob or something, but it has the same basic principle's, it grows, it brews, it's otherwise useless.

You're right, I should have. I realized now what I should have said was "are you trying to remove any point to the beacon and enchantments?"
This item basically mixes everything together by obtaining a single item as opposed to doing the actual work, once you have this item (which would be significantly easier to get than the Nether star and gaining XP) you could grow it and have all the effects of the beacon not only to yourself alone (as opposed to the beacon affecting everyone in the area), but also without having to fight the Wither. As for the potion effects that are coded in but not in the game yet, well, frankly adding more ingredients seems like a better idea, considering a player is not going to use the fire resistance effect of the Fire Resistance potion and then have to dive to the bottom of a lake in time to use the water respiration effect. I would rather have separate potions and a method of combining two effects into a single potion, similar to how the anvil combines enchantments.
I don't like the weakness upgrade, since it would make any sword the player had useless. If swords are your main weapon, a single potion can be your downfall. It would unbalance PvP. But other than that, awesome suggestion! +1 to you!
