This is something small, just so that when someone moves a massive amount of stone or dirt form a chest storage to their inventory.
I would just appreciate something like: Ctrl+click moves the entire stack of stone/dirt/wood even tools from the inventory to the chest or the chest to the inventory.
Just because I'm lazy and would like to deal with one less click.
Not a big deal, but I'd like to just be able to move my mouse over one space and click on the next stack of stone to move it instead of having to take the time and move it into my inventory.
I now realize this might not make sense the way I am explaining it... does anyone get what I'm trying to say?

I like the current one better, as it feels more real. Have you ever magically taken everything from a large box and put them in your pocket?
I understand and respect your opinion, but i just think it gets really tedious to have to move large amounts of material. Since you're already sitting with the chest open i just think it would be nicer.
Not to mention, it would be even more real if we had to try to fit everything in the chest and inventory Tetris style, with smaller stacks taking up less space, and tools taking large amounts of space. (I am against this Tetris style inventory for the record).

are you serious? have you ever pointed at something and pointed somewhere else and had it teleport irl? have you ever waved your right hand and put down an exact 3x3 cube of dirt?
I agree with the guy who says the things. FFShadow. Just something to help my tired fingers after a hard day of drilling a 10x10 column down a huge deep map.

Thanks, I'm glad there are people who know my pain after a long day of hollowing out large areas.

I never see him there. Then again, I live on the other side of the world, and I don't even go to the IRC often.
If you think this idea is something small and simple that Notch will thank you for 'cause he won't be needing to work on SMP to do it, then send him an email.
I would like this, clicking back and fourth for long enough to empty one's inventory is tedious.
Perhaps the interface could just interpret clicking and dragging the mouse as selecting multiple items. Currently, clicking and dragging acts like you clicked and then moved the mouse button without dragging.
another thought is that double-clicking ought to automatically send a stack to the other window. Clicking and dragging for a selection tool would actually be a little annoying, now that I think about it. But clicking, dragging, and releasing should drop an item, clicking on it maybe should 'select' it, and ctrl, or shift, would be a selection tool, or select multiple items.

You can move your stuff and get back to playing more quickly.
Bah realism.

Another low importance idea Notch will probably end up implementing :biggrin.gif:
If he sees this post.... judging by the low replies on this post, maybe not.
A simple suggestion on geology here.

Slaves of the Coal Mine
An interesting Novel to pass the time.
I should get on the IRC channel more often then....

i dont know whens the last time you put 2000 tons in your pocket?
sorry i just couldent resist
Heh. And here I'd always been happy with just moving 64 cubic meters of solid stone at once.
I support this idea.
+1
spell check died today...

Who cares if it's realistic? Have you ever punched through diamond with your bare fist?
I like the idea. It just makes inventory management a lot less of a hassle.
