Full support. I'd have tons of floating islands at the hight limit, could even structures spawn if you have floating islands? Village on a floating island?
I do support, but I personally feel that it could be a bit too tempting to make the game easier. I think a lot of people would just take the easiest options they could, and would end up destroying the fun for themselves.
I do think it's a good idea, though, and would love to see it in the game. It would help to make each world unique, and provide a kind of variance lacking from the wold generation that we have a the moment.

We have modes other than Peaceful, or even Easy, and despite the "safe" modes being available, people play Normal, Hard, and Hardcore. If people want the game to be easy, they can do that already, I doubt if having more options available for world (and mob) generation would change that. In fact, it might work the opposite way -- someone who only plays on Peaceful, let's say, because they're afraid of the mobs, might decide to turn on just one ... maybe spiders ... and play like that for a while. When they realize spiders aren't so bad, maybe they'll turn on zombies too ... and before you know it, they're playing the equivalent of the current game and having a great time.
In brief, it won't make things any easier for people who want them easy than Peaceful mode does now, and it might encourage a few of those people to try something more challenging.
This is a very interesting idea. On one hand, I could finally get rid of those damn ghasts. On the other, this could be easily abused and make the game way too easy. What could be done is this -- depending on difficultly, players could have the option to turn off a x amount of mobs (i.e. maybe 1 for hard, 2 for medium, 4 for easy?)
Mostly support.

Do you play games that you think are too easy?
Do you play Minecraft on Peaceful?
Why not?
If you wouldn't make the game too easy for yourself, don't worry about what someone else would do.
As I said earlier, anyone who wants Minecraft to be really easy could play on Easy mode, or even Peaceful. Yet most people play on Normal, Hard, or Hardcore. Why would this be, seeing as there is nothing stopping them from setting it to Easy instead? Give players more credit than that. Just as people now pick the mode that they find fun to play, they'll pick the options that they find fun to play. You play how you like, they play how they like, everybody's happy.
WE HAVE A ING GENIOUS IN MC FORUMS i have alway wanted to infest my world with villages and stuff like that. i also have a suggestion, what if you could sdjust how often blocks/ ore spawn. for example, change your budder rate from defult, to almost everywhere. and if you can have an unlimited world, or a limited world is another suggestion i have for you.
Awesome idea! My one problem with it is that this would be nearly impossible to implement (after reading it a second time I realized you said this), but other than that it looks great! Good luck getting this to be implemented.
if you are able to choose which biome you want then that is not fair cause lets say you want desert cause of temples and if you genetate a lot of deserts you will ge ta lot of temples and have lots of loot. sorry but i dont like this idea i want to stick with the random biome generation minecraft

Not FAIR???? To whom? How does my game play affect you (or anyone else) in ANY way at all? Minecraft is a sandbox game, NOT A COMPETITION!!! There is no such thing as "fair" or "not fair" in Minecraft unless you're playing multiplayer!!
I don't have enough words to describe how ridiculously stupid the notion of "fairness" in Minecraft is, not just from the poster I quoted, but I've seen it many times on many threads. I could go off into a rant on American public education (because I'm convinced that a lot of that nonsense originates there), but I will nobly refrain. (Yes, I'm American.)
Wait...
I can make it so I can finally run into four villages without too much work? (I've been trying to do something in my worlds that involved four or so villages that were in some sort of war, or something, with the player being in the middle of it... obviously, I'd need a mod for the second part, but this will definitely help with the first part.)
I can turn horses off because I hate horses?
And, obviously, so much more!?
HECK YEAH!
Notch Approves!

First time clicking on this thread because "sliders" just sounds like a sandwich to me.

I think your thread title sounds too technical.
Here, have some brisket sliders:
