The new diamond block texture looks nice, but for the sake of all things Minecraft, don't change the diamond ore texture. It's already on plenty of merchandise, it's been the same for ages, and everyone loves that texture and recognizes diamonds that way. Let emeralds have their own ore texture, but I don't think diamond ore texture would ever change. It's just ridiculous to change something that old and popular.
Edit: Also, I'd just like to say that the vanilla textures are fine, and if people want the textures to be changed, that's why we have texture packs.
Eh, I think all ore blocks with crystaline contents should ''sparkle'', as to simulate the tiny bits of crystalized matter on the outside of rocks containing crystals/gems. Or it should just look like stone, and appear more random, that would also put an end to XRay, but you won't be able to tell what's diamond and what's rock.
I made a texture pack that looks just like vanilla, but it changes the diamond block to look like the one suggested here, as well as make the emerald ore block look like the other ores.
I absolutely agree with the diamond block retexture, but I also think that all gemstone blocks (lapis, emerald) should be changed to the same thing as well (only in their respective colors). I also think that the emerald ore texture needs to be changed to look like all the other textures, it bothers me that it's the only one that's different.
While we're on the subject, the default iron block texture looks like complete ****. Change it to something that looks like actual metal.
Looks pretty cool. I like both the ore and the block. First though, before they make any change to MC textures, they need to fix the 1.3 gravel.
While I agree that the current gravel texture looks... odd, it does suit villager roads better, but I also think that villager roads need to be changed to something not affected by gravity to fix the uneven roads problem. I'm thinking maybe cobblestone roads, then replace what is normally cobblestone in the buildings with stone bricks.

Anyway, thank you for the support.
but why don't you use my new signature support for those who like ore?
The block texture you made is beautiful, perfect.
And the ore looks much more gem-like, but the pattern shouldn't be exactly the same as that of the emerald ore.
I know it was all said before, but it bore repeating.
I love love love the block texture! Diamond blocks have always looked pretty ugly IMO which is a shame since they are kind of the ultimate block. Yours is gorgeous! It makes it look like a huge gemstone.
If you have "given up on" the ore retexture (and I agree with most others that you should, since it is so iconic) you should remove it from the proposal in your first post. I think it will go a long way to helping your texture get adopted, because right now unless you read the whole first post it looks like you still want both textures adopted. If a guy from Mojang looked at your first post right now there's a chance they would take one look and be like "Dude, no way we're changing the ore texture!" and close the thread. Anyway, just my two cents.

As I have said before, I'm leaving it up for the people that do like it, and I'm a little too far in now to suddenly change my suggestion.
The Diamond and Diamond Block Retexture looks pretty nice, however the ore isn't exactly...fancy. But i like it. Since i can't give diamonds or gold, you have my Iron (lol)
I have always felt that the Lapis block also should be less... Blech. As someone who makes their own textures... I agree whole heartely the metal blocks and the gem blocks should not be identical... which the diamond and gold blocks currently are just a pallet swap. I think changing the diamond ore would be good too... BUUUT I know alot of people would rather the emeralds conform rather than the other way around.
Luckily, custom textures can fix this in the now... Good luck on a more gemlike diamond block!
This looks awesome, I really do think that the diamond block needs more of "gem-like" look, rather than something that makes it look metal. I really do think that each mineral block should have a unique texture, it has already happened with iron.

Because you never replied to my question and at this point I don't care about the ore.
what about gold block texture look like stacked gold bars?

Well the iron blocks already look like that, so we'd be back at square one with having some mineral blocks look similar, but others look different.

It should be a bit brighter
or -1 me with your mind. One of them is less frustrating.
