Ah, memories. This was one of my first posts, and it has now been revived for this update. Brings a tear to my eye.
Original post:
We all agree there should be a way to craft a saddle. But the recipie is so obvious that someone's probably thought of it before.

What do you think?
What do I think? I'm not sure what I think of this idea anymore. They did say that they wouldn't add a recipe (I learned how to spell recipe) for saddles, but when pigs fly comes after cow tipper in achievements. For everyone who says this would be too OP, you still need to find a horse, and we have no idea how commonly they'll spawn in the final game. Frankly, if people say they have 10 of them clogging up their chests from dungeons, it can hardly be called OP to be able to mass produce them. So bump this if you must, but I will be withdrawing further input. Thank you, goodnight.
I think it's dumb. There doesn't need to be a recipe for everything. It's a little reward for finding dungeons. Maybe if it had a useful use. Even then, no.
They are rewards. If saddles are easily made, then a saddled pig wouldn't be as cool.
Saddled pigs aren't all that fun as it is.
I like the idea of craftable saddles, but once mounts are added into the game, there should be some sort of difficulty factor in obtaining and using them. Just adds that little bit more value to the saddles themselves.

To touch Divinity, one must first be prepared to brave reality.

I do think he said AS FUN, if this were added, then there would be less fun, and less of a use.
If you knew how to read the clues, you know that Notch is planning on adding a saddle recipie.
If you look at the achivements, you'll see that when pigs fly comes after cow tipping, which means that eventually, you'll need leather to have a saddle.
Wow. Just wow. You must be really new? Because if you kept up to date...(HERES THE GIANT NEWSFLASH) That Notch isnt even working on Minecraft anymore. And hasnt since 1.0(thats when he handed it to... get ready for another newsflash) JEB!
And you're so transfixed on that, you completely ignored the entire point of the post. Of course i'd heard of the change, Notch was just linked to Minecraft in my mind. And the point still stands. If you can't stand stupid people, get off the internet.
It's about time we got a recipe for saddles. The "it's special" excuse is just dumb. You can craft everything else in the game, but for some reason saddles are exalted? You can craft a minecart, but not a simple saddle?
Also, the recipe is pretty good. I like the parallel with minecarts and boats. I've seen other recipes that are a bit different, but this one makes way more sense.

Um yeah... saddles are honestly not all that important to the actual gameplay, unless you're going for all achievements. So I really don't think this is necessary.

No we all don't agree.

Also, don't shove opinions in our heads.

2. Recipie. wat?

But you can control pigs though right? With a carrot attached to a fishing rod.
Saddles can be traded from villagers.
I want to craft saddles without raiding dungeons. Some of us live in special world generated by mods where dungeons are not available.
Hmm, I think that might be overkill...
