Oh, there's nothing written about spam posts made by bot accounts is there?
The other one is covered by anonthemouse's addition (the one in green); though I think I did bring up a point about it in one of my sections as well; thanks for this though, I'll see if/where I need to add it.
Humor follows : Wry maxims that must be added to FTC.
All suggestion posters and critics should read the following and not use NPCs in minecraft to make their points. Any resemblance to real philosophy is purely accidental. Any semblance to humor is also accidental.
1) Godwin's law, sooner or later a forum thread will fall into Reductio ad Herobrinum, with one side accusing the other of supporting Herobrine. Once that happens, the thread is dead. The topic makes no difference to the Godwin's law, in that sooner or later a long thread will devolve into the attack.. "If you think that, you secretly helped Herobrine code himself back into the game."
2) Ad Zombinem : the use of zombie posters to attack the countering viewpoint posters person and character. "Zombies, eat her brains and slander her character until she agrees."
3) Mob Appeal : appealing the large mobs of villagers, zombies, etc to make the point that every one should do or does x, based on polling the NPC characters in minecraft. "All the skeletons agree with my point, therefore Scooby Snax should be included to keep skeletons from dog attacks".
4) Argumentum ad posteriori Nether : continuing to argue the point directly after the other poster has just entered or left the nether, or under the effect of potion ID 9. "Ah, he just left the nether, I can post 40 repetitive times before he recovers."
5) Morel high ground : Taking a high position on huge red mushrooms as the superior poster based on looking good on mushrooms. "These should be added to the FTC, since I am standing on top of a large red mushroom. I have the Morel high ground"
Largest file loaded is 90K commands from a command_block.

Awesome, I love it. I want to add that, but know that would be a faux pas. I'll be doing some looking into FTC (when the mood hits me) on what to add/improve. Suffice to say I enjoy how it looks at the moment (except for the no quotes thing). I may consider throwing the sections into spoilers, but that seems like it'd hinder more than help.

I just spent some time and read through this entire post and I have to say thanks. I enjoy critiquing other's posts in the suggestions section and I always had some trouble posting the right not half-arsed posts. This will be a great deal of help thank you for your time and effort put into this.
Like the lagument, this is yet another unjustified claim people use because it's hard for them to come up with a good reason to not support the suggestion. I have searched for an actual quote from Mojang that says that they won't add any more tiers for several months now, yet I could not so much as a SINGLE piece of evidence that shows that Mojang themselves said that. I am absolutely sick of people making this overused claim without any actual evidence to support it. Even worse, this argument is contagious and has infected many users for over a year now.

I wouldn't say that this would be hard to write on; the problem is all it takes is a tumblr/twitter post about it for the entire section to be rendered invalid. I did a bit of digging and didn't find a source either; but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. With that said, if I write a section blamming the behavior and it turns out that _I_ was in the wrong; then the entire guide loses credibility.
Despite my personal beliefs, I will refrain from discussing this one.

I posted that because I saw literally thousands of people say that without a single one of them providing a link to the quote. I also searched for one for over 3 months as of now. You'd think that if it were true, at least 1 out of 1,100 would provide a link to the quote.

You know how it mentions you shouldn't tell a person he's reported? What if the reporting is in the context of you trying to be helpful and reporting a topic for the sole reason of getting a thread moved to the correct forum? Because in that case, the reporting is helping out the OP instead of "you did something wrong and I'm telling!!"

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
The reason you shouldn't tell someone they're reported is because... well... honestly... I have absolutely 0 faith in the ability for the average audience of this forum to be mature enough to responsibly handle it. The average forum viewer will get so bent out of shape that they think they are being actively targeted, there is no problem, etc. and they begin a petty revenge war to prove some misguided superiority.
It's never pretty. In terms of that, it'd be much easier to just let the secmods handle it instead of telling the person; while it may be seen as cowardly, absolutely NO ONE wants to see the dirty laundry that's carried and it just gets deleted anyway so it wastes your time.
For example: if the poster's thread gets moved, your post saying it's in the wrong section will be deleted anyway, the OP might not even see it.
You can always create criticism not related to any hint that you've reported them. I'd focus on that.

My Avatar is a Dalek, therefor your argument is... EXTERMINATED!!!
You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.
If someone makes a criticism, it doesn't mean they're a troll.
AlphaPrimero: "This idea has problems with A, B, C, and D. It could be corrected with this, no support."
BravoSegundo: "Is it just me or is AlphaPrimero trolling?"
CharlieTerzo: "Alpha is just trolling."
No, AlphaPrimero is _not_ trolling, and your mob bullying techniques are dangerous and shameful. There's a REASON why calling someone a troll is a bad thing. This act is ad hominem and a red herring. Let me explain both of these here:
Ad hominem - Latin. Against the person - is an attack on the person instead of his position. It is disrespectful and childish (akin to calling someone a poopie-head because they're winning an argument.) Calling someone a troll is equivalent here. This is a logical fallacy as the qualifications of the speaker have little to do with the qualifications of the discussion. (a professional garbage truck driver is just as capable of stating understood facts about genetics as a geneticist; although the geneticist will have a clearly understood greater understanding).
A red herring is an attempt to undermine the opponent by changing the discussion. In this case, changing the discussion from the solid counterpoints to the ad hominem attack.
How about you knuckleheads actually DISCUSS the points of the "troll" instead of accusing him of being a troll?

It's nice to let a person know. If you're going to sway to the immature ones, then you're doing so at the expense of the people who would handle it well. That's not fair to them. Why not just send the notification in a PM? If they make a nasty response, just block them or delete the mail.
