Everything, honestly! I can see this feature bringing along more potions, weapons, armour, and so much more! I also like the idea (I'm not sure if anyone suggests this) being like wolves. Tamable with meat, but should it be untamed and you injure it it attacks you. Or being hostile all together.

Eh, Foxes would run away from you mostly, and be attacked by tamed dogs too I guess(I'll add that later). The only variant of the Fox that attacks players in my idea is the Kitsune, the Nether Mob for this guy. Although... If I were to extend this to include another Fox that's openly hostile and can't be tamed, I would do one that spawns only underground, with a sort of unhealthy red and greyish pelt, no white fur whatsoever, and slightly glowing yellow eyes. Only thing I can think of off the top of my head.
I support adding foxes as passive mobs with pelt drops. I do not support the weird nether fox or special drops for fire resist potions.
The 'weird Nether Fox' is a Kitsune. It's from Japanese legends, and considering how much the game runs on popular myths... Made sense to add them in there. And for the fire-resistance potions, it only made sense because of them living in the Nether and having magic powers in the folk-lore, and also because the tails signify the power of a Kitsune, so why not? It's also good to eat when cooked.
it would be funny if you put a nametag whit the name of (WHATDOESTHEFOXSAY) and you put it to a fox it will turn multi-color and it will play the background of that music but whit the music box of minecraft lol

Heh, yeah, perhaps have a Disk that does that instead, with the tag 'WTDSTHFXSY'.
I Full Support this idea except for nine-tailed fox. leave that to naruto and his gang to take care of. Also I think the more natural sound that only people will ever hear from a fox, but a way way quieter than it is portrayed in this video.
Won't the noises sound a lil bit disturbing in-game though? I recommend these ones (at least for Fennecs)
particularly 0:37-3:06
I only like the Red fox and the Arctic Fox, the other foxes is little too much for Minecraft
Eh, why not have them in there? There are two variants for the Skeleton and Zombie(Not counting villager), not to mention the Baby Zombies that run around. The point of the Fox is to diversify the pets you get, as well as add a new mechanic for mobs to the game.
+1 I'm dying to see foxes in the game now. Although, instead of having multiple types of foxes, I think they should have different skins that each pertain to where they spawn, like with rabbits.

Well, that is kinda what it is. All of the overworld Foxes act the same, they just have a different skin. Less game mechanics to crack down on to make sure each one spawns different then the others. The only one that does behave differently is the Kitsune, the Nether fox.
how ever i have a few things i would like to say about it.
1. they should attack chickens (like wolves attack sheep) just to add to add more depth to them.
2. next about the fur, as foxes are fur bearing animals, it would be cool if you could trade the fur with villagers as another in-game trading item. (making the reward either taming them for a pet or getting the fur for trading purposes) heck you could even add different values to each fox fur such as the red fox is worth more then a gray and the arctic is worth more then a red fox.
just my thought on the subject, other wise support.

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
Okay, to answer the first question, yes, they do attack chickens. It's over in the mob behavior area.
For the second question, that's not a half bad idea for having villager's trade for fur, although I'd have to nix the multiple fur's idea, being as how I've already discussed it in the twelfth and thirteenth posts after the first one. Hmm... I'll make something for the Villager's though.

...That sounds like a cross between a crazed monkey, and a yowling cat. A sort of 'YAOW' noise. I don't think that it may be the best noise for the mob though. It seems a lot stranger than the regular noises for passive animals, plus it is a bit annoying. Would you want a mob that did that all the time? Maybe for when the Kitsune is attacking mobs... Also, why not the Kitsune? It only has three tails, and it adds another element to the Nether, a mob that you can take home with you.
Won't the noises sound a lil bit disturbing in-game though? I recommend these ones (at least for Fennecs)

Huh... I didn't know Fennec's actually made sounds like that. I think most of the extreme and loud ones wouldn't be the best to do for it, but I think the 'Yipping' sound could be added in there... Sounds interesting. I'll make note of it.
You know, one could say that there's too much on the Enderman's mechanics. Or the Ocelots in fact. I mean, why have a mob who sits on your chest and forces you to move it so that you can open it? Or why have a mob that can teleport, and completely dodge your arrows no matter what?
I've already posted the mob sounds in an edit of the original post. For the Kitsune, if Notch added exploding, armless, four-legged mobs that have gun-powder in them and EXPLODE, then why not a small demon-fox-pet from the Nether, eh? It's not the worst idea ever at least.
I'm keeping the tamed part in, but rideable? I didn't even put that in there. It's already passive aggressive, what with it attacking you if you don't have a pumpkin on. Considering how many mobs in the Nether don't care about what your head-piece is, that isn't a huge advantage against Pigmen and Ghasts, leaving you open while you try to tame the little fur-ball.
What do you like about the idea? The mob mechanics? The items? Or just the fact of Foxes being in Minecraft in general?
