I noticed that we can have baked taters. And was wondering why the beetroots couldn't be roasted as well. Since they are consumable when raw. Like other things, Roasted beets could solve two hunger points instead of the single one that a raw beet does.
An alright idea. Though I think it should fill an extra 1-1½ hunger.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
It would be better to turn beets into sugar (which is quite common in the world) instead of roasting them. Do we need another item that is simply cooked?
Beetroot is useless except for making dye right now, so... why not?
You make soup out of them. They make dye?

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. I will face my fear. I will let it pass over me and through me, and when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Soup only fills 3 full bars, and is non-stackable. It also involves 6 beetroot. Not very useful.
But yes, crafting a singular beetroot gets you a single red dye.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
This in large part removes the point and strategy of beetroot, and instead makes it a copy of potatoes. The main benefit of beetroot is that you can craft beetroot soup in addition to eating them normally. Beetroot soup, while taking more crop to make than other foods, has the highest per-item saturation and hunger restoration than any other crop (ignoring golden carrots). Beetroot also grows faster than other crops, as it has four growth stages instead of eight. It also drops on average slightly more seeds than wheat.

Thank you! A fellow farmer who understands their crops? Regardless, it's nice that someone else understands the concept of growth time and saturation. Beets aren't terrible!

That would Beet eating them raw....
But yeah, I don't see how this would be an issue. Sounds neat.

If raw can be eaten then we may roast as well. Beet and beef yea.

Anything that gives beetroots a buff is fine by me. These things are completely useless.
Red dye is already the most common dye type aside from maybe bonemeal, and it's a pretty terrible food source.

Wrong. Beet's aren't completely useless. Why do you lie here in every single post that you make here?
I'd prefer a different use altogether compared to more food. Once you have a cow farm, there is no need for any other extra junk.
