So its been awhile since a new food or something to do with farming. Well I hope we don't have to wait much longer.
Anyways, I have a few ideas for a farming update.
So we all know our loving automatic farms, the new observer block <3. Well fully automatic farms sometimes hard to make, especially why you need villagers. Aren't they a hoot sometimes. (They have a big head but where's the brain?) Anyway back to topic, this idea will help us be able to make automatic farms.
1. The farmer bot.
Yes I said it, a Farmer Robot. Way better then dealing with those annoying villagers. You build a Farmer bot, like you can build snow golems and iron golems. To build a farmer bot place a iron block with a item frame on it. Next place a trapped chest on top of the iron block. On top of the chest place an pumpkin. Then place a lever on top of the pumpkin. Go to the bottom iron block again and in the item frame place in an axe or and hoe, this will chose what type of blocks it farms. Once that is in it will spawn. A Hoed Farmer Bot will hold a hoe and farm crops on hoed land. A axed Farmer Bot will farm things like pumpkins and melons. You have to place the seeds in first. Then push your hoed farmer bot on top of the soil. Then lick the lever on its head to activate it. When its farming it will mine the crop like a villager and put it in its inventory (the chest). To make sure it doesn't run out of seeds you can store seeds inside the chest. It will only farm soil that is connected to the soil block you activated it on by water or another soil block connecting to another soil block and so on that connects to the activated block. So if you activate it on a seperate soil patch, it will not farm the other soil patch unless connected by water. This will keep you making hoes, and maybe even a diamond one, since they lose durbility when the are harvesting crops. If you put bonemeal in the chest they will bonemeal crops. Now for the axed farmer bot, it will farm all pumpkins in a 10 - 50 block space that spawn. The block amont that it can farm up to can be selected when u select it's chest. On the top left hand corner it will have "block distance: ___" In the ___ you can select it and put a number between 10 and 50. Nothing above or below. Axed farmer bots will not do anything with the pumpkin seeds or the melon seeds, thats why you have to grow then first. all pumpkins and melons will go in their chest for you. The axes do lose durability though. To deactivate farmer bots you flick the lever again. Farmer bots run on redstone blocks. 1 redstone block = 9 minutes before auto shut off. Now your food worries don't have to stay forever. But if you want a always automatic bot, you will need a charged creeper head, (Which should be added) To give them fuel just drop it next to them and they will pick up. Farmer bots have 20 health points (same as players). They are killed faster with a pickaxe. (Pickaxes will always do 6 health points of damage per hit. Farmer bots will drop redstone dust and iron ingots aswell with whatever is inside chest. Farmer bots make a "vacuum sucking things up" sound when moving. If has below 10 health points it will blow up if it lands in water. (Bigger explosion if using charged creeper head for fuel)
They could not be somekind of bots. better just somekind of farmer spawning near and then it comes to you asks an emerald and it starts doing to job like farmer villagers do..
Thats basically a farmer villager that ask for an emerald to enter its inventory. It would kinda just be like says "oh make villagers spawnable in minecraft".
It would be op if a bot was that cheap to make, and I don't like the idea of adding futuristic stuff to Minecraft like robots
1. A furnace is made out of 8 cobblestone and can be made auto with a little wood and less then an iron block. Also coal can be found in high places under the ground. If a bot that cost more then this is op and cheap, what would that make furnaces with a chest hopper and coal? Super OP. This bot needs to be filled with redstone blocks something harder to find then coal and it doesnt even start out with the items. Its basically a farmer villager that is more controlled by player.
