Bane of arthropods is useless. People have suggested spider bosses, but their are more "arthropods" than just spiders, so I came up with this.
The thraknium(the name has been changed) golem is a hostile mob with 70 health points(35 hearts). They also have 12 armor points.
Thraknium golems look like metallic centaurs with six segmented legs. Because of this, they are affected by bane of arthropods.
A thraknium golem will spawn when another golem is struck by lightning, and it always wields an iron sword, always enchanted with levels 16-30.
These have a search radius of 24 blocks, and can see through blocks.
They attack by simply wacking you with their sword and inflicting slowness I for five seconds.
Thraknium golems drop 35 XP, 13-21 thraknium ingots, a random mob head, and they have an 8.5% chance of dropping their swords.
When one dies, it makes an explosion the power of a charged creeper, and summons several lightning bolts nearby, but never close enough to destroy the drops.
Thraknium can be used to make blocks. These blocks can be used as beacon pyramids. Thraknium golems can be created by placing blocks like so:
First layer ---Second layer ---Third layer
T ---T
-----------------T
T ---T-----------T---------------P
T= thraknium block P= pumpkin.
A player-spawned golem is neutral, and will wander around aimlessly. When the player feeds one a mob drop, it will become hostile toward that mob.
Thraknium golems move at the same speed as a sprinting player, and will run away from iron and snow golems, who will attack them.
Thraknium can also be used to craft thrak-rods, using two ingots and one pumpkin.
Thrak-rods deal 4 damage(2 hearts), and have 19 durability. Kinda pointless, that is, until you enchant it.
Here are the enchantments a thrak-rod can receive (all except unbreaking are mutually exclusive, only level 1, and cannot appear on a book):
Sickening: inflicts nausea I for 9 seconds, hunger I for 6 seconds, and poison I for 3 seconds.
Burning: sets victim on fire for 5-15 seconds.
Combusting: after three-second delay, "thraknel"(shrapnel) will fly out of the victim in random directions, dealing 2-6 damage to anything hit.
Radiating: gives victim glowing I and makes all nearby mobs hostile for 5 seconds.
Dying: inflicts wither II for 2 seconds.
Freezing: inflicts slowness IV for 10 seconds.
Equalizing: turns victim into a cow, if the victim is a player, nothing will happen.
Draining: each attack will inflict the attacker with 2 seconds of strength I.
Undying: heals victim to full health, but gives them nausea for 1 minute.
Unbreaking: same as unbreaking works for tools.
These enchantments are all a work in progress, please let me no if any are too OP/UP. More will be added soon. Thank you for your feedback.
And sorry if I cannot reply to any feedback, I have really slow internet :-|
EDIT: changed name to "thraknium", made other various changes based on feedback.
"An arthropod (from Greek arthro-, joint + podos, foot) is an invertebrate animal having an exoskeleton (external skeleton), a segmented body, and jointed appendages. "

Other than that, good point(s).
In Minecraft, Anthropods are considered insect-creatures. This includes: Spiders, Cave Spiders, Endermites, and Silverfish.
As for the suggestion, it seems more like a mini-boss than it is of a boss, so I suggest changing the title for clarification. The idea as a whole is not so bad, but it the style of it doesn't seem to fit. It has an interesting concept to spawn when an Iron Golem is struck by lightning, and could be interesting for a battle. The drop is practically useless, since it has only one use, which is for beacons, and the fact that you would need 81 Thraknium Ingots, and this only provides less that 21, which isn't even enough. Overall, interesting concept, but has faults.
Ehh... Well, I don't really see it fitting into somewhere. Thrakium Golems... Are created when Iron Golems are struck by lightning? Hmm... Okay, but how do you get Thrakium Blocks if you wanted to build one instead of making an Iron Golem and letting it be struck by lightning? It's too expensive. And why would he become a centaur? Pig become ZombiePigmen but they don't grow another pair of legs and convert into exoskeletal creatures. We need more of a story than just this.
So you're saying that it is logical that a pig magically receives a sword made of gold when struck by lightning, but it is not logical that a golem grows more legs when struck by lighning?

I don't understand.
Yes. I am telling you that pigs struck by lightning becoming these Zombie Pigmen is logical. They evolved but still retained their previous feature. Your golem became a freaking centaur, I don't really see the resemblance. There's a missing Zelda, uhh.. I mean Link.
I see your point, but it has to spawn somehow. Without the golem, you cannot build the golem. As of 1.9 snapshots skeletal horses spawn out of thin air when lighning strikes. When figuring out the spawn mechanic, I was going for something decently rare, but not impossible

Cave spiders are cool
How do they spawn?
Most of all this just seems useless and unnecessary. The tools are bad, the boss is overpowered, and the pet is dull. No Support
The boss has absurd regeneration and defense.
Thank you for your feedback, all of it has been taken into consideration.

I am trying to come up with a use for thraknium, as no body was in favor of the tools.

Seems Intresting, although just not rewarding enough. 4/10.
So.. How do I sign my device?
Havent played this game in 1 year... so much new stuff...
Thank you for your feedback, thraknium has been given a use.
