So everybody who plays creative are cheaters too. I disagree. According to your logic, Creative is cheating.
But if you mean, first playing in survival, then switch to creative? Yeah. It's cheating.
But it doesn't mean I do.
There's different between stuck in the pit and get stuck in the floor when loading a world. The difference being that if you're stuck in the floor, you can literally jump out. If you're stuck in a pit, too bad, game over.
If I were stuck in the pit, I would find a way out without using command or switch to creative, if I first start with survival. You literally said you would.
There's something you missed: in creative, hostile mobs won't hurt you.
So why those mobs prevent you to sleep when they're not dangerous? Because it was either never considered by the developers, or they considered it too insignificant to change. Either way, it was probably because it was too pointless.
That's the suggestion is about.
I still consider this suggestion to be utterly pointless. Because changing your difficulty to Peaceful for half a second is so difficult.
Commands are faster when it comes to changing the weather, changing the time of day, and setting your spawnpoint. In the end, though, not every player in creative mode is going to be an operator... For an example, some servers do not give players in creative mode operator privileges. This would also be a little more user-friendly than commands. There is no reason not to add this feature.
Again, this may seem okay to players, but this addition would be annoying to mapmakers. You have no idea how many times I need to test beds in creative mode to see if players will be able to sleep in them. No support, of course.

Why the mapmakers would have problem with their beds in creative mode?
If Mojang supports my idea, mapmakers won't need to test their beds in the worlds in creative mode.
When horses are added in the game, mapmakers won't need to check if horses are working in their worlds.
Hmm... maybe a good idea, but the reason it is how it is, is because let's say you were trying to sleep, (In real life mind you) and you heard zombies moaning, slimes jumping, creepers hissing, wouldn't that suck?, you wouldn't be able to sleep.
But yes, sleeping in creative wouldn't hurt a bit, but with commands in creative mode, you don't need to sleep to get to the next day, you can simply type in /time set day/night, or /toggle downfall, etc.
So my point being, is that creative mode sleeping, sure, but not needed in the slightest, survival mode sleeping, well, it's just a realistic effect

This may seem off-topic, but what kind of maps do you make?

I am a unicorn barfing a rainbow. Your argument is invalid.
"You cannot sleep, there are monsters nearby" -Minecraft That's why my suggestion is about.
And just saying "No support" is against the rules. I'm a rule-following critic here. I still consider this suggestion to be pointless."No support" is ok if you give a reason why you're not agree with it. It's in the rules too.
Using commands are for cheaters unless if necessary.
If you load a previous world and you're stuck in the floor, I'll use commands to get out.
Peacefull is too easy for me.
I totally agree!

If you need a challenge, then isn't this suggestion making your "challenge" easier?
Well, using creative could be called cheating too.
If you're trapped in a pit, you're screwed anyhow, and using commands to get out is hypocritical.
By all that is green, you're suggesting something totally pointless. And is it really that hard to change your difficulty?
So everybody who plays creative are cheaters too. I disagree.

Why not? It's not a bad suggestion.
-Don't have commands and stuck in creative mode, with monsters all around? Sleep.

ps don't listen to all the people nitpicking... I mean, they changed the redstone hitboxes; no one complains about that.
"Ah, my old foe. The English language. We meet again."
Well this suggestion would be more useful on console since we don't have command blocks, but for all versions I fully support this minor tweak.
Support my suggestions. Make the game better!
Playing on peaceful would get rid of any hostile mobs the player has spawned in.
It is creative after all.

Think before you post.

Full support.

If you can explain why hostile mobs prevent the player to sleep in creative when they won't hurt the player is good, I will drop this suggestion.
Otherwise, just say 'no support' and It will be fine to everybody.
