You're getting the wrong point here (I must have mistaken that. I meant to say Video Settings. I keep forgetting the Escape Menu was changed >.>). Removing the options to alter your video settings for the sake of a mechanic is risky and a bad choice to make.
This is why I'm trying to think of a way that doesn't need that. I was thinking that maybe mobs can load chunks too. Maybe that may work?

I think you have the wrong perspective on all of this. You asked "What's wrong with minigames?" By themselves, nothing. If you asked "What's wrong with minigames in vanilla?" the answer would be that they're just baby-tweaks of existing gamemodes that mods can fill already. A couple posts back you responded to me with "Ah, now you understand the idea!" when in actuality I explained it's true colors and why it wasn't a vanilla thing.
It's like you mistakenly thought we met some middle ground when I was digging into your idea (and already knew what it was from the start).
I'm also noticing that you're throwing up extra pieces of scotch tape to barely keep this idea up on an uneven, greasy wall. Not only are you using subjective, meaningless things to hold up the idea, but you have to keep adding all these wonky rules and mechanic swaps just to balance this out. Ideas that need that usually fail before they're truly born.
You can't defend this with things like "Well this is good for players who want to see their high score!" because that same thing can be said for any theoretical gamemode ever. I could suggest a weird "capture the bacon!!" gamemode with that same excuse.

In a thread about where minecraft is heading, I stated it would probably stay the same but, like story mode, become several different games, with original minecraft as the heart. This would be a prefect example as one of those games, but i love the idea of this gameplay mode.

You're going in a subjective circle, dude. There could be a million gamemodes to add that stuff, but what would make this nether corruption stand out from any other "this is a challenge" gamemode? Like I said before, you're just chilling outside a nether portal, getting upgrades, waiting for mobs to be spammed at you, rinse, repeat.
You haven't really given a counterargument yet. I don't mean for this to be offensive, but if Mojang were to add another difficulty of some kind, I'm sure they would do a bit more than just make a spinoff where you're camping near a nether portal...

I'm not sure what reason there is to explain if that isn't it. I'm not sure why, but why do you think that Mojang would find this repetitive? Branched out gamemodes ARE "spinoffs" from original Minecraft. That's what makes it part of Minecraft in the first place. You can't really expect something like adding guns here isn't it? I don't see what's needed here.

One thing cerroz hasn't sad, is that this isn't really a new idea. The old, waves and waves of a horde of monsters thing is old news, there have been thousands of games based off of the concept. However minecraft isn't one of them, and we (or at least I) don't see it being one. I think this is sorta what he was getting at, and if I was right I hope I helped clarify.

Yes, but there are reasons why so many other games do it. Because many players enjoy playing such things. And I don't see why this wouldn't fit in Minecraft?

I already explained to you why this would be repetitive. A couple times already... You're rinse-repeat killing while camping in front of a nether portal. There's nothing interesting there and it would get old very quickly.
Creative and Adventure mode are very unique experiences, while "Nether Corruption" is not. I think you just become entrenched in your own idea instead of seeing the bigger picture. In fact, your gamemode is so painstakingly linear that I don't know even know how you could compare it to normal Survival.
It would be a great challenge for those who are seeking more to do in Minecraft
No, in your gamemode. There's LESS to do.

There are about a million reasons why it wouldn't. Your first post suggests removing the end entirely. would you really look Mojang in the face and say "Yeah see all this that you've done? see all the hard work that you've put towards this dimension, even with the awesome and really substantial updates to it in 1.9? Forget it, it doesn't matter" ?
It would be like taking a step backward. Plus, as Cerroz put it, Minecraft isn't plants vs. zombies (as much as I love that game) making huge and rather off-balance changes to the core game just so you can boost your already gigantic ego isn't in the spirit of Minecraft. Sure, you might find diamonds faster than the person below you in the scoreboard, but at what cost? When sandboxes like Minecraft get too competetive and "hardcore" there's no fun left in it and it's all raging 10 year olds screaming about how they're the very best at pve and pvp, and any satisfaction you would get from this would be hollow.
any points you've made are full of logical fallacies and/or you've just plain ignored massive holes in your logic. this doesn't, and will not ever, work.
@verdecraze Instead of insulting people for their "massive holes in logic" why don't you point out how to fix these holes. You're criticizing through ranting at me. If you plain don't want to support it, I get it. What do you expect me to do? Lock the thread? The FIRST post removed the end. Now, the end is still in. Criticizing older versions of this suggestion is as useless as your ranting. Even then, removing the end for ONE GAMEPLAY MODE, WILL NOT AFFECT THE REST. The settings here only apply to ONE GAMEPLAY MODE. A gameplay mode is GENERATED with its world. Other worlds made normally will NOT have things like this.
@Cerroz You don't need to dig here either. I get your points, but as mentioned above, I'm not going to ask mods to lock the thread, and I'd rather continue trying improving this even though you say that it won't work out, and is too bland to be a new gameplay mode.

It's not the critic's job to fix holes in your idea, and not every idea can be fixed.
I respect that your sticking by your idea, but you don't seem to be defending your idea with anything other than personal opinions. If that's the case, what's left to defend? I could suggest 100 other minigames that have the exact same objectives as yours, why don't those get added? How would "Nether Corruption" take the trophy? This is a question I've asked many times that you ducked.
Why waste time programming a piece of Survival mode when you can have all of Survival mode? So far, this suggestion is just your own personal pocket gamemode.

It is a critic's job to point out what the holes are, and not just scream that there are holes. I'm dodging the question as there is no satisfactory answer to it. Why don't we just add all the food possible in minecraft? Where's calamari? Why don't we make it possible to fry silverfish? There are hundreds of questions, and answers to those. Why I think this should be added above all other gameplay modes, well, I don't have a specific reason. It IS a personal pocket suggestion of something that I'd like to see. I don't have a specific reason why I want to see it. The reasons I've stated before, are the only ones I have for any argument.
It adds a new challenge, and a new way for players to play.
It can be used on countless other things, I know, but I can't think of anything else already.

verdecraze's post pointed out the holes in your idea and the opinioned statements you used. If you don't have the answer to a question, you might as well just admit that up front, because when you dodge questions it just looks like you're trying to run away from it and hope it goes unnoticed. Which is... still what it looks like.
Why don't we just add all the food possible in minecraft? Where's calamari? Why don't we make it possible to fry silverfish? There are hundreds of questions, and answers to those.
Adding a few pieces of food sprites is not the same as a tiny reboot gamemode. It's not the same thing at all.
Why I think this should be added above all other gameplay modes, well, I don't have a specific reason. It IS a personal pocket suggestion of something that I'd like to see. I don't have a specific reason why I want to see it. The reasons I've stated before, are the only ones I have for any argument.
Points for honesty I guess? Though this thread is pretty much the "More Furnaces" one, in that many points and questions just go ignored and you only respond to what you feel like instead of addressing entire arguments. So overall, the suggestions comes down to "I want it, so add it plz." with no true backing.
And the whole "It adds a new challenge, and a new way for players to play." Could we please toss that out the window? Because that doesn't prove anything. You might as well say "I suggest pizza in the game because some of the pixels are red!"
Even then, removing the end for ONE GAMEPLAY MODE, WILL NOT AFFECT THE REST. The settings here only apply to ONE GAMEPLAY MODE. A gameplay mode is GENERATED with its world. Other worlds made normally will NOT have things like this.
I don't think you're getting the entire point of verdecraze's post. I'm sure he already knows that one gamemode will not affect another? He's talking about how you're senselessly removing stuff for one gamemode just because. For example, it's like walking up to a poor hungry family and saying "Okay, for just $3, you can have this whole large pizza! Or, also for $3 you can have just one slice of it!" Your gamemode is the pointless single slice. Get it?

I can safely say that all suggestions boil down to "I want it", and the supports boil down to "I want it too". I did not remove anything for no reason anymore. Name something in this post that has something chopped off survival mode, that you think was pointless.
Verdecraze literally is using a tone that simply means "I don't support this because I think your logic has problems". I doubt you need me to quote the insults that he used. I can bet that he knows that one gameplay mode won't affect another, but why he is criticizing an old version of this suggestion, I don't know.

There's a moderately sized line between "i want this plz add" and "Here's something everyone can enjoy, and here's why!" Sure, you've given reasons for the idea, but the reasoning has been mostly personal and overgeneralized, and you openly admitted that you don't have an answer to why this idea is good for vanilla as opposed to any similar-goaled gamemode.
As for the chopped-off-of-survival thing, the most prominent thing removed is the freedom, which does make perfect sense so the player doesn't run 8 miles away from the portal, but this reduces the amount of resources the player can get, meaning the player can run out - putting a plateau effect on the number of "waves" the player can face.
Which bleeds into the second thing that's been chopped off of Survival, the playing time. Okay cool, maybe you're skilled and can survive a long time, but once you finally get overwhelmed, that's it, you're done. What else is there? In Survival you can keep going as long as you like, which brings us back to the pizza analogy.
Doing what you want, when you want, for how long you want, how you want to. > Rush upgrade, fight wave, repeat.

Sometimes I think people pay more immediate attention to joke, troll, vague, and wrong section threads here instead of the actual proper suggestions.

Even though my Join date is in 2014, I tried the demo on 8/30/2012, and bought the game two days later on 9/1/2012. So hipster
Stuff I support:
Click here to get Rick-Rolled. No seriously

NO SUPPORT

Gonna put this in a spoiler.
verdecraze's post pointed out the holes in your idea and the opinioned statements you used. If you don't have the answer to a question, you might as well just admit that up front, because when you dodge questions it just looks like you're trying to run away from it and hope it goes unnoticed. Which is... still what it looks like.
Adding a few pieces of food sprites is not the same as a tiny reboot gamemode. It's not the same thing at all.
