Torches should be lit in your hands (or make flashlights)

Wouldn't be great if the torch you were holding in your hand was lighting up the dark in front of you? Or better yet, put flashlights into Minecraft. They could be combined with helmets to make those miner helmets with flashlights on them (I don't know what it's called).

I like the idea of holding a torch and it provides light, but I also think flashlights don't really fit into minecraft.
