To prevent picture spamming, cameras should only have 30 pics per cam. The pictures should be non-stackable and you could custom-name them. Also, to prevent picture spamming, cameras should require 10 paper and 2 redstone dust to create a picture (as ammo, like bows use up arrows) . Redstone is TOO plentiful for bedrock miners, and paper is easy to mass-produce, so not a HUGE cost...
How would you be able to put that in any sort of crafting table? That's 12 items, where you can only place 9. It just seems like too much of a hassle, and I don't think that spamming is a problem, as once you take a 64 pictures, the camera breaks, like any other tool. So all they'd be doing is wasting a perfectly good camera! I mean... You wouldn't go off and waste a nice Diamond Pickaxe, would you?
cool idea. I think to solve the problem of mass picture taking over whelming the server, you could have the player store their photos in their own special "photo" folder, which they could then display as paintings or something
(also, out of the game, they would be able to view their photos as PNG's)

That's what we discussed and pretty much agreed on. Good to know people think alike!
If editable books ever get added, you should be able to put pictures into them, using the camera.
That's a pretty neat idea, but I don't think that would be easy to do.
I think servers would already have a lot of trouble keeping track of every word put into books and all the pictures posted in the game. Pictures in books would be 2x as hard to keep track of.
But perhaps instead of putting them in books, you can make a Scrapbook to store all your pictures!
Perhaps, as a method to conserve resources, The game displays the image as a pixelated version (like the paintings), but when clicked, it opens up to show the full size picture.

Again with the good ideas! This one can be much easier to do as well!
Good point. We need a banner. Also, do you mind if I link to this in a post I was thinking about doing? I was originally going to suggest a telescope, but I now see that it could be expanded to encompass all types of survallence.
As we all know, the paintings are based on actual paintings made by Kristoffer Zetterstrand, but in game we have the pixelated version. The wiki says that the low-res version was also "made" by him. My question is: The pixelated version was remade by hand, or there was some kind of "automatic" process to convert them from the original? I'am not sure, because the wiki also states this: "they were shrunken to a low resolution to fit Minecraft's graphical theme"...
Also, I like the idea of just having and storing the low-res version of your pictures, to fit the minecraft feel. If you want the normal pic, there is the screenshot for that end already.
I believe that someone said something about a monitor? Monitor could=
I guess wood and cobblestone would be acceptable substitutes, albeit they display a lower res than iron framed ones. It could always show the latest picture uploaded to it. You can upload pics by rightclicking a monitor and placing in a photo, much like a furnace.
Notch could make it so that a camera redstoned to a monitor automatically uploads to the monitor. Connect a camera to a pressure pad, monitor, and torches via redstone and voila! Once someone steps into the base, a camera across the room snaps a picture which shows up on a monitor in a different room that is constantly being... monitored. The watcher is alerted that the monitor has changed because of a lit redstone torch. Now we know whether to send in the noob brigade to deal with a zombie that wandered in because someone left a door open, or if we need to start PMing our greatest warriors so they can sign in and defend us from a full on attack by our enemies.
Or perhaps you could have a monitor room seperate from your main base, so if someone sneaks in and steals your stuff, you know exactly who.
OR PERHAPS WE'LL CATCH HEROBRINE WANDERING ABOUT.
I also think we should make cameras attackable. That way a noob spy will be caught, but a veteran will scan every room, bow in hand, taking out cameras, doing his job, and then replacing the broken cameras like he was never there. It would also force some kind of cleverness when placing cameras, so you couldn't just place it in the middle of the room or flush with one of the walls and hope for it to do its job.
Someone needs to banner this NOW.

I think all ideas should be thought over in a technical aspect.
Sure, having photos would be great, but the only way they would ever work is if you loaded them individually via a photo album.
The notion of having photos render in real time is preposterous, do you understand that in just a few minutes I could double the amount of textures in the game?
To make it a little less common, you would have to have a dark room lit only with a redstone torch that's filled with water to develop your pictures... There would also be a 45% chance parts of your pictures will be blurred if you leave it in too long.
I really like this idea. I support. Maybe it could be made so that if you left click, picture would be in color. But if you right click it would be in black and white.

I honestly thought that it said "If eatable books ever get added, you should be able to put pictures into them, using the camera."
Love the idea, I would vote for it if I could!
= picture
Now, you have a picture all ready to go!
Nice, simple, and overall, a decent sounding addition to the game.
