I like most everything here. I have one problem that hasn't been really brought up, though. The enchanted gold block... I don't like it. It'd be too easy to draw mobs into traps using it. I could just stand there and watch while all my enemies would just run right past me into a drown trap or something.

I'll admit I rushed the description for that one.I've now amended that to include that if the enemies aren't able to get to it to attack it, then they wont try to attack it either. Otherwise, if it is in a position that it can be attacked, they'll be able to break it, so you'll constantly have to keep resetting it.
I think the most effective one for that would be a time limit. I have a drowning trap in one of my Minecraft levels and it'd be nearly effortless to use with a gold block sitting there. I'd just watch mobs run at it and fall into the water, basically. (Maybe run out there and lure them to be within range of it, but that's about all.)
The time limit.. How long would the time limit be? Three minutes? Something like that?
You either missed my edit, or misunderstood it. Basically, if the enemy's couldn't get at it to damage it, it wouldn't bait them at all, and if they can get to it, then they'll be able to damage it, and the length of time it will remain unbroken will depend on how fast and often they attack it.
Intead of what you already suggested, running a enchanting furnace through an inchanting furnace should provide infinite enchantment of items, no fuel use, but it takes like a game week to complete smelting.
Enchanting a regular furnace should either:
A.) make it an enchanted furnace (1st class)
B.) make it so that it smelts ore very fast
C.) smelts ore for free but very slowly. VERY. Slowly.
(obligatory joke) Im gonna enchant your furnace so you can enchant your furnace while you enchant your furnace.

What? So when pigs get hit by lighting, they suddenly develop into bipeds and receive brown leather skirts and golden swords from nowhere?

Don't try to walk tightropes any time in the near future. Your sense of balance is horrible.

Enchanted Watch - Can tell time of the overworld even in Nether. Right Clicking while holding Enchanted Watch will increase the speed of the game while right click is held. Day/Night will change faster, smelting will finish faster, other mobs will move faster enemy arrows will move faster, plants will grow faster, oxygen will deplete faster, empty minecarts and boats will move faster (but also slow down faster) PLAYER, PLAYER-FIRED ARROWS, AND PLAYER-RIDDEN BOATS & MINECARTS WILL NOT MOVE FASTER. Once Right Click is released, Watch will revert to Gold Watch.
NOTE: In SMP, Enchanted Watches will have a limited range for where the speed will increase, and will not be able to influence the Day/Night cycle.
Only one little problem..... overworld time does not pass when in the nether 0.o it has been confirmed somewhere, probably the minecraft facts thread, i am just itred as heck, lol XD
Well, I just confirmed PERSONALLY, that time DOES pass while in the Nether. Simple way to test for yourself: wait until sunrise or sunset are just starting, then go into a nether portal. **** around for 60 seconds, then go back through the portal. It will no longer be sunrise or sunset when you come back, ergo; time does pass while you are in the nether.
Checking your watch before enter and after you leave the nether also confirms this.
My big concern right now is that Gold Furnaces would actually be TOO hard to make at this point. I'm wondering if I should reduce the furnace to only needing regular gold ingots to make, Or if maybe it's recipe should need a regular furnace surrounded by just 4 Gold Blocks.
If I reduced the price down to gold ingots, I would likely have a durability for the furnace itself so that it wasn't an unlimited number of enchantments.

(Aside from "bling" -- but why bother with gold when diamond is MORE blingy and more useful?)
It's also more motivation to mine.
