Mithril ore would add another resource to look and mine for. Mithril ore would be found around 10 - 20 block above where diamond is found, and would be better than iron but not as good as diamond. It wouldn't be as rare as diamond, but it would be more rare than iron.
Looks like someone misses Runecraft
Honestly, I would like to see something between Iron and Diamond. But Mithril? Atleast make it a real material
How about something like carbon steel? Just steel with something like coal. (for simplicity)
Because Redstone is a real material, right?
Also, Mithril was "invented" in the Lord Of The Rings books. Tolkien never copyrighted the material, so a bunch of other fantasy books/movies/games used it.

Point. But atleast redstone is original.
I really couldent care who uses Mithril and who invented it.
Yah i honestly don't care what kind of ore or material it is, i just want him to add something like it so it gives us another thing to mine for :biggrin.gif:
I like the idea of mithryl (I know I spell it with a "y" cuz thats how it was originally spelled lol) I never played runescape once in my life either so dont go screaming at me. I was a big fan of the lord of the rings books and who ever says at least make it something real. We have not discovered everything out there yet for all we know it could be real. Come find me when you have found every material/element out there.
runescape isnt the only game that used mithril, world of warcraft was another one too. But debating on what metal it be if people are that bothered then look up the periodic table and just pick out a metal stronger then steel (some call it iron others steel. It hasnt been made official seeming there is no difference in quality but if you smelted with coal would be steel, smelt with anything else, would make iron) but weaker the diamond. Which in real life you have a nice big choice right there.
Isent mitheral created when you mix slilver and iron(or was it steel..?cobalt?)? I think if ANY material should be made, it should be Steel, but then notch would have to introduce limstone and pigiron...BUT if steel or mithril is created, they should make very strong(and light)armor and weps, and a tiny bit better picks.Oh and Inbijiburu
, i think he got it from runescape.
Mithryl (Imma spell it like this now :biggrin.gif:) should be a metal that's only found in lava caves, but it's quite common there... Actually, screw this, I already posted this before:
We need mithril and adamantine stuff. Each would be fairly rare (Only found in lava caves, but fairly common in them) and would be as strong as diamond, but each would have special abilities.
Mithril would provide some protection against lava, preventing it from lighting you on fire immediately. It would also make fire last a shorter time, and you'd light on fire after a longer period of time. Mithril would be blue (I'd make it bluey-silver, but it'd look too much like iron) and could only be smelted in a diamond solar furnace, making it fairly hard to get bars of it. Stick the diamond furnace outside in a high place, wait a while and all the mithril in it would be smelted. You could smelt up to 64 bars at once, and they'd all get smelted instantly after a while.
Adamantine would only be smeltable with an obsidian, lava-powered furnace. It would be exactly like diamond stuff, except kind of green (Maybe black instead, or both!) and it would last forever. Pretty much, it'd be diamond with a different colour and no degradation bar.
EDIT: Also, Notch needs to add a completely pointless white-ish crystal, like quartz, that'd be long and needle-like. It wouldn't have any use, and it would be just for fun in mining. It'd form into huge downwards veins/columns. You could just mine it if you found some if you were bored. Or... It could be crafted like this:
Except with quartz instead of diamond. This'd form a crystal block sort of thing, octagonal in shape and just for decoration. You could show dedication to mining by sticking pillars of crystal everywhere.

But quartz or pyroxene would work out.

Awwe you've just gone and done it. You've tainted the Minecraft forums with Youtube B.S. Shame on you sir, shame.
I don't understand what you're implying...
Let me guess, you've never heard of Youtube?
