I am very selective. After 6 hours of seed hunting in several sessions, I had found only about 12 "candidate" seeds. Most of them, while interesting, didn't meet my standards. Then I found this one.
The seed generator spewed awesome all over this damned map. I could limit myself to no less than 14 pictures, all of them of unique places, and that is without taking pics of the many dozens of other worthy and beautiful places.
This would make an awesome seed for a multiplayer map. No fighting over epic and iconic places; there's plenty for everyone, and Notch knows what else beyond the area I explored.
Found even more stuff. This is ridiculous. I am ready to declare this seed the best seed ever found, even better than World in the Air. I need to make videos of the different areas; the pictures don't do it justice, as many of the awesome features are grouped in the same area as others.
Newest findings are -2158 -1776. which is a positively huge cavern.
also, the entire damned area around -2000 -2000.
Here's a list of various points of interest, mostly grouped by area and coordinates.
I highly recommend using either the flight mod with speed multipliers, single player commands with teleportation, or NBTedit to change player position, in order to quickly explore the different areas.
How much traveling to these epic locations is there?
There's 3 areas within 600 blocks of 0,0.
There's about 20 areas (with multiple awesome features each) within 2000 blocks of 0,0.
It's a hike for some of them, but its worth it. Also as noted above, using either a fly mod or single player commands with teleport would allow one to explore with ease.
As a single player map, you'll never run out of cool places to build at and explore. However, it would truly shine in multiplayer, as rather than just being a seed that has awesome in one area, it has loads.
I tried the seed and spawned in the bottom right corner of map...in that snow biome. Ironically, I found myself in a valley flanked by three hillish mountains that were filled to the brim with coal and caves. Plus, I could see alot of iron peering into them. I left the valley and settled in another mountain valley, this one landmarked by three ponds.
I have yet to explore the rest of the map, but from cartographer the view is pretty nice.
