Somebody please help me out with this! I'm trying to use this in a command block:
/give @p head:3 1 player:@p
But instead of it inserting the player's name it instead puts @p... for the player:@p part. How do I fix this in a command block???
Damage type does not indicate the owner of the player head; that comes in the "SkullOwner" tag. The correct ID for player heads is "skull". Note that you cannot use player selectors in dataTags. The syntax for the /give command is:
There is absolutely no way to automate the "SkullOwner" tag. Player selectors are not parsed in the dataTags. The only way to give players their own heads is to have command blocks for every single potential player, and there are several million of them. I'm sorry to say, but this simply cannot be automated in vanilla. You would have to rely on mods at this point.
