In Windows press Windowskey-R to open the Run dialog, type %appdata% and press Enter. Go into .minecraft/saves.
In MacOS go to ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves
In Linux go to ~/.minecraft/saves
Unzip the contents of the .zip file into the saves directory.
Launch Minecraft and select Singleplayer. You should now see a new world called TaviRider's World of Redstone. Select it and start exploring!
What is it?
It's a downloadable Minecraft world with extensive redstone examples. It's intended for anyone that uses or wants to use redstone in Minecraft. There's several sections:
Redstone Basics
Advanced Redstone Concepts
Basic Logic Gates
Advanced Redstone Circuits
Common Redstone Constructions
I've constructed nearly every circuit currently listed in the Minecraft Wiki's Redstone Circuits page. This demonstrates the trade-offs among different versions of circuits to help you select the design that fits your needs.

FAQ
I can't get a gate or circuit to work in my world.
Make sure you copied it exactly. The way that torches attach to blocks is crucial.
Minecraft can be quirky or buggy. Try closing Minecraft and reopening it.
I still can't get it to work. I think this circuit is wrong.
I've tried my best to build everything correctly, I've tested every circuit, and and asked other redstone experts to review it. Still, I'm sure I've made some mistakes in this world. If you have a specific issue, please let me know so I can fix it in a future version.
Your world is missing something.
I'm sure it is! I have lots of plans for additions, and I'm sure this will only keep growing larger and larger as people invent amazing new things with redstone. If you have a specific suggestion, I'd love to hear it! Please let me know so I can add it in a future version.
There's a better version of this circuit. Why did you include it?
I've intentionally included some obsolete circuits. Often they're easier to understand than more complex but smaller versions.
And sometimes they're not obsolete, just different. A 4x2x3 circuit may be much smaller than a 7x7x1 circuit, but that doesn't help if the space you have to build in is only one block high. Also there may be subtle differences between versions, like how inputs connect, whether the inputs are isolated and how quickly the output becomes valid.
In those rare cases where a circuit is truly obsolete, I'll put a sign next to it saying it's obsolete, indicating which other version is better.
May I use some or all of this world in my project?
Please do! I just ask that you give me credit, the same way I gave credit to Tyken, Minecraftaddict and all the others who helped with this project.
If it's Minecraft related, the best thing to do is comment on one of my Reddit submissions or send me a private message on Reddit. My username both there and in Minecraft is TaviRider. You can also send me a private message here or post on this thread, but honestly I don't check the Minecraft forums that often.
This is exactly what I needed to learn Red Stone. Reading about it just doesn't do me any good, but actually getting my hands on something and playing with it; you've done me a great justice here. Thank you, and well done

"TNT output is not shown for safety reasons." Cute. :-)
That said, I'm pretty much echoing Redenbacher's comment really--it's easier to wrap your head around concepts seen in-situ rather than trying to just read about them.
Hey Tavi, I've got a good portion of your videos bookmarked, I'm actually curious which server(s) you frequent? I'm in the market for a new place to build.

Mostly single player these days, because redstone is slow and buggier in SMP. Also griefing someone's redstone is even more destructive than griefing buildings. The only server I've hung out on is Reddit's creative server, c.nerd.nu. I'm a mod there.
This will no doubt be of great use to a large number of people. I've got the hang of the basics, but it'd sure be nice to have a look around the real things over a flat diagram for the harder stuff.
Might have to check this out. I use the wiki to make my circuits and sometimes that gets really confusing what with having multiple circuits on the same image.

The next time an authority asks me, "What could possibly have given you such a lack of respect for the value of human life?" I will respond, "Sir, have you even BEEN to the internet?"
Possibly the most helpfull redstone tutorial out there! nice work!

This is very well done! It's a perfect demonstration for many of the more advanced redstone concepts. I hope you keep updating it as more and more techniques are discovered / invented.
You might already have this, as I haven't looked at every demo yet, but do you have the redstone controlled water system that was recently discovered by Zomb13?
Based on Minecraft version: Beta 1.4_01

How did you get the world so flat?
It's based upon Tyken's Test world.

Might I suggest bookmarking it instead? I'll be releasing updated versions in the future and updating the post with more information.
Sure thing. Looking forward to updates.
Did.. did you just Notch me?

Should be stickied somewhere... not quite sure where though, lol
Thanks for the help! I incorporated the information into the instructions. Can you make sure I didn't botch it?

I can offer some free map and save-file hosting, just PM me! 1GB/Unlimited Bandwidth/FTP Access. More on request!
I've just added a mirror, thanks again to kaoticsnow.
