I have looked everywhere for an answer to this question, basically what I want is for my command block to give someone a splash potion of decay (wither effect). I have looked everywhere for the item ID for it, but cannot find it. It would also be helpful if someone could tell me the item ID for these potions also:
Potion of haste (II)
Potion of Dullness (mining fatigue) (II) (III)
Potion of Leaping (Jump boost) (II)
Potion of nausa
Potion of resistance (II) (III) (IV)
Potion of water breathing
Potion of blindness
Potion of hunger (II)
Potion of dacay (wither)
Splash Potion of haste (II)
Splash Potion of Dullness (mining fatigue) (II) (III)
Splash Potion of Leaping (Jump boost) (II)
Splash Potion of nausa
Splash Potion of resistance (II) (III) (IV)
Splash Potion of water breathing
Splash Potion of blindness
Splash Potion of hunger (II)
Splash Potion of dacay (wither) (II) (III)
Here is an example of what I'm trying to do /give @r 373 1 8205
(that give the artless potion)
But I want a potion of decay.

Do you know the data-value for that potion? If yes, you should be able to spawn it.. if not, you'll have to find out (or maybe, not sure) use Sethbling's ModifyPotions filter for McEdit
I tried that, I used sethblings potion filter, but the Item ID is the same as before I edited it, I'll show you: In the image, 373:###### is the item ID.
I have been looking for the item Id EVERYWHERE, I still cannot find it.
I need the command block to give it to a random player during the game.

I have tried to achieve this as well, but it is currently impossible to use the /give command to give a consumable potion not introduced into the game. The filter uses the ID of the effect within the game-code to change the selected potion's effect (IE, changing a poison potion to wither, without changing the item's ID), rather than selecting from an available potion. I truly wish something like this were possible >.<
He means with /give .. but at the moment, it is impossible to use /give to give 'invalid' items I guess that it is kinda obvious.. there not officially in the game, so why allow /give to give them
Are you talking about the /effect command? I have tried this on a command block, but it does not seem to work. I tried /effect @p 1 60 2 But it didn't work. (Speed II Swiftness Potion)
If you need to make potions in the command block put /effect @p 8 (time) (potentcy)
The 8 is for jump boost which is the Id for jump boost
Also you can do /give (you) 52 to get the command block and after when you're in the command block command setting place it tells @(whatever) for random person, nearest player, and all players

You do realize that this was posted before the "/effect" command came out right?
EDIT: By the way, I hope you do realize that it is "/effect @p 1 60 1" to get the Swiftness II effect since the number 0 basically equals 1.

What you could do, is give players something like potions of night vision, then on a clock use testfor @r[effect=id] into an comparitor into two command blocks: one to add the wither effect, and then one to remove the nightvision, .
You don't do /give to get a potion. It's a command /effect (player name) (number standing for potion Id) (time) (potentcy)
To get the potion that you can drink/throw you need mcedit or toomanyitemsYou can have a player step on a pressure plate on a command block to trigger the command to get the effect, but there is no way right now to get a consumable potion. That would be something nice to have though. But I think the reason he didn't add that is because it will take a lot of space in the creative menu. Because he would have to do it for every potion. But if. We're a command that would be better.

I have them. It's VERY EASY to get. All you need is MCedit and SethBling's ModifyPotions Filter: http://sethbling.com/media/3862/modifypotions.py Here's a video by SethBling explaining this:
