I have way too much water that I got from trying to put out a giant fire. When I realized that it would probable take me a year or two. How do I get rid of the fire and water, and only the fire and water (I don't take sponges for an answer). I know it has something to do with the set block command. I'm just not sure EXACTLY how. Thank you.

Use the fill command. http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Commands#fill

1.Stand at one corner of the place with fire and water
2. /fill ~ ~ ~ <x2> <y2> <z2> air 0 replace fire
3. /fill ~ ~ ~ <x2> <y2> <z2> air 0 replace water
