One quick note: This only works in Minecraft release 1.8+!
I have came up with possibly the easiest way to become a Creeper in vanilla Minecraft! It's very simple and requires only 3 commands! It's also worth mentioning that you can actually be any mob you want!
So before we get started, if you don't know how to get command blocks, simply do this command: /give @p command_block
Step 1. You're going to need to summon the Creeper you are going to be. This wouldn't work with just any Creeper... This special Creeper won't wander away, and it won't explode in survival unless you use flint and steel on it.
Also... I briefly mentioned that you can actually be any mob you want! To do that just replace 'Creeper' with whatever you want to be!
2.Now you're going to have to make a redstone clock. A simple repeater clock will work if you don't know how to make any other ones. Although it's usually better if it's faster. Now connect three command blocks to the redstone clock, and put these commands into them. The order doesn't matter.
/tp @e[name=Playerr] @p
/tp @e[name=Playerr] ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
/effect @p minecraft:invisibility 3 0 true
I'll now explain the commands:
1. Teleports the Creeper to you.
2. Somehow causes the Creeper to face you.
3. Makes you invisible! Not even the particles show, so you truly look like a Creeper!
3. This last step is completely optional. This will simply turn off the spam generated with this. Just copy and paste this in your chat:
/gamerule commandBlockOutput false
That's all you have to do! Now of course not every command is perfect, sadly there is one drawback to this... That is the fact that interacting with anything - even in creative is a bit difficult as the Creeper's hitbox is in the way, but Creeper's don't do anything but blow up anyways, which you can do any time with flint + Steel.
Hope you enjoy blowing up villages or pranking friends, or just being a Creeper!
Wow, but there are any form to be in survival/adventure and the creeper no explodes?
You can be in any mode, the Creeper will never explode, unless you use flint and steel on it. Even if in survival, it's just hard to interact with anything, because it's hitbox is in the way.
you can solve the hitbox problem by teleporting the creeper slightly behing you and turning yourself invisible, it will work just the same
I tried that once, but it doesn't work. You can't do tp @e[name=Playerr] @p ~ ~0.1 ~
And tp'ing them down a bit here:/tp @e[name=Playerr] ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ doesn't seem to work...
Even then, it would look awkward. (Almost like the word awkward) I'll try and figure something out...
I once did that with an armorstand when my friend got glitched and was permanently invisible somehow.
/summon AmorStand ~ ~ ~ {NoGravity:1b,Invulnerable:1b,Equipment:(open bracket):{},:{id:diamond_boots},:{id:diamond_leggings},:{id:diamond_chestplate},{id:skull,Damage:3s,tag:{SkullOwner:(username of player whos skull this is)}}(close bracket),CustomName:Playerr,CustomNameVisible:1b}
I tried this, but here is the thing, you are giving yourself invisibility, but when you press F5 you can still see a transparent but still visible character... Also the worst in all this is you can't interact with anything because of the hitbox
Mojang should make a tag for entities like Hitbox:0/1 (false/true)
For the hitbox: you could try some sort of code that moves the creeper, reletive to where it is facing, a small bit backwards. Only problem is you might get crazylegs! (TF2 Bug)

I tried that, but the problem is that the Creeper instantly gets teleported to your exact coordinates, this makes it impossible to do that. I could do an execute command, but then it would only work in 1 direction. I'm not 100% advanced in redstone, but i'm sure there's someway that I don't know about just yet.

Will do, I guess...Mojang should make a tag for entities like Hitbox:0/1 (false/true)

I do remember having a bug where the hitbox disappears after the mob spawns in/near a tree.
Even if you're invisible it can still target you by sound. I think.
