I like the new update for minecraft. The first thing I did was build a house with a purple carpet and a stable for my horses. It started to hit nightfall and I decided to place a bed down on the carpet to figure out that it takes up a whole block space, meaning i cant put a bed on the carpet. I just feel this should be fixed. It "bugs" me.
It's not a bug and really not something that can be fixed, outside of a lot of work being put into it. It's really just something you'll have to cope with.
This is why they never should have added carpets, IMO. It's much better to just make a 1-meter floor out of wool.
But, now that carpets are in the game, it's basically Mojang's responsibility to make them work properly. Which they can and should do, now.
Carpets can be placed over virtually any block in the game, and items fall through them. Those two traits alone make them useful for any number of applications. Although it's easy to think of them purely as a floor decoration, carpets are already being used for their useful quirks. For Minecraft blocks, quirky new things are a blessing for creativity.
