I have minecraft 1.3 but my fav server doesn't. I told them I would play 1.3 for a bit then come back but I forgot to backup my 1.2.5, anybody wanna give me a site where I can get it back at?
Redistributing the .jar files isn't allowed; but, you can download the technic launcher and choose to play vanilla, then select 1.2.5 in the options and log in. This will download the .jar you need, You can play through there or you can then just copy that .jar into your normal Minecraft folder.
in Windows 7:
Copy it from from "C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\vanilla\bin"
to "C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin"
This is the simplest legit way of doing it right now.
Here's an official link from Mojang: http://assets.minecraft.net/1_2_5/minecraft.jar { this link is exempt from the no redistributing rule because it's not redistributing, it's a direct download from Mojang }.

That's even better
But still, are the Mojangsters not afraid of this getting exploited?
