I'm too used to achievements, how it has a tree of achievements, grayed out, you do the thing, it unlocks, do the next thing, it unlocks, and so on. The advancements system confuses me. Like, I do something like, make an iron pick, and it appears randomly in the menu. There's no grayed out tree already there. Nothing to tell me what to do next. It just appears there.. kinda disappointing cause I liked using achievements when I first start to guide me.

GENERATION 11: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
It acts the same. You can follow the branching tree to guide you, but it won't force you to complete one task before the other. If you manage to complete a task further in the tree, it will grant you it. Advancements just free up map makers from having to force you to complete certain tasks in a linear way. It also opens up the ability to add our own goals in multiplayer.
