In my opinion. The concrete blocks are perfect for builders. Especially modern builders. The concrete powder can also be used as asphalt on the road. However, the way to turn concrete powder to concrete should be tweaked as it is a PAIN to turn a whole stack of them.

There are manny easy, simple redstone machines that help with this. But to be ultra simple, set up a water block that flows in only one direction. Put dust in your off hand and a pick in your main hand. Hold down both buttons next to the water and PRESTO easy concrete.

The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird would be able to cross the entire Minecraft world in just shy of 17 hours.

I've tried that method but it is very time wasting (especially if you want a stack) and also makes my finger kind of hurt. Maybe they could add a crafting recipes like a water bucket surrounded by 8 dust. May not be the best solution thought.

I like the idea of having to build redstone machines to create a lot of concrete, IMO vanilla lacks a bit of that aspect. Crafting recipes (and GUIs in general) feel always inferior compared to actual interactions with the world. Another example : would you like to be able to get instant infinite cobblestone stack in the crafting GUI with a bucket of water and a bucket of lava ? I don't. It would be easier, but it would not feel like good gameplay to me. That's why I like what they do with the powder. It's not perfect and could be improved, but definetely not by adding a crafting recipe.

Just change your keybindings for your mouse to keyboard keys and place a wight on them and go AFK.

It's awesome, you can use the black to great effect for pitch black hallways
I like combining lights for the floor and black concrete as the ceilings and walls.
Although I would like a "Chiseled Concrete". Basically just concrete with borders. I think it would look great for a number of things, especially when combined with concrete

Should make it so you can click on a cauldron with them, would use one water level per stack.

people just said what is a concrete block as a joke
The only tweak I'd make is to include a sound when they harden.
