I like the new creation of blocks in Minecraft. However, Minecraft is in a tough spot currently. When Mojang was owned by Notch, Minecraft had a clear direction it was going. A sandbox survival game. New things were added to make survival have more substance. With the more recent updates, 1.9-1.11.2, there has not been a clear direction of where the game is going. Updates 1.9 and 1.10 were about the fighting aspect in the game which previously was simple spamming(I am not talking about your intense Hypixle Badlion pvp but the survival pvp) with a sword or shooting a bow. These two new updates have ruined(in my opinion) the fighting. They made it more complicated, and it didn't help survival what so ever. It also hurt the pvp community, making the servers have to use older version that will soon out dated. The fighting ruined swords and only added a few potions and arrows. Shields aren't the greatest, they mostly block arrows and knockback but not so much damage, as they should. The pvp, I was hoping, was going to add more items and mechanics, such as magic, and other things. Instead we got a new End City, which isn't very amazing. At least the Elytras were something new. 1.11.2 and the new Snapshot are also having the same problem. There is no clear direction of the game so stuff is being added that doesn't really affect survival, which is what the games core is, a sandbox survival. What I hope new updates will add is the following(in no certain order):
1. Fixed fighting mechanics: Revert back to the old ones or fix the current ones where swords are stronger than axes. Also, make the shields absorb some damage so that they have more than 1 use, which I find currently is just blocking arrows.
2. Add more fighting based stuff: Add battle axes, more armor and weapons.
3: Add magic: Besides current potions add a magic. The magic can help the player harvest items and do other things.
4: Add more to survival its self: Add more ores and biomes. Survival has gotten dry and lacks new content.
5: Update to 2.0: This may just be a me thing, but create a massive update(like 1.6) that will get us into 2.0. Now I know this is a mew thing but I hate the fact we went from 1.9 to 1.10. Like get out of the 1.__'s
6: Add a beta testing client: Add a client you can beta test new updates so the community can have a say before Mojang does something because not everyone will agree with what Mojang does.\
Let me know how you feel about what I said and your opinions. Also please don't through a fit and bombard me with mean comments because I may have said something you don't like but please talk to me if you have something to say.

This thread is for posting opinions specifically about the changes in Minecraft 1.12 and its snapshots, it is not for posting general opinions about Minecraft or its prior versions or future direction.
My gosh there's so much to take in in this snapshot! I'm stoked about the beds and the new concrete blocks and well...EVERYTHING! I'm already thinking about what I could build in my episodes! GAHH I CAN'T WAIT!!

you don't get the fact about ax, Ax is a heavy duty tool, so if we make it do less damage than the sword, then it should be called "hatchet" which will enrage the community worse than leaving what it is.
beta testing client? even Mojang think that is a good idea, Mircosoft won't allow it.
Massive update? like any mod that already does what Mojang could add.
Shield do block damage but it not good idea to block all the time, any 1.9+ pvp pro knows that.
So this new Illusioner Illager was released I think
My only complaint is that the blindness is a bit annoying in my opinion and his outfit is ridiculous.
Also, I kinda want Vindicators to be able to use bows but not naturally have them, for obvious reasons.
Glad they are adding more stuff to the Illagers and not having them just forgotten like the Guardians and other new mobs, hope they keep expanding upon the old features.

Blindness wasn't used until now so I think they wanted it to be used for something. Chug down some milk and it'll clear the effect.
The only issue I have with the new snapshot is the change to beds. I'm okay with having different colors for the beds, but you can now no longer craft the bed with different colors or wool, all three pieces need to be the same color. So it used to be if you started out in an area where there were only two white sheep and one black, you could kill them all and still make a bed. You can't do that now. It's just a minor annoyance, but you should be able to craft some sort of "default" bed if you don't have a matching set of wool.

Hmmmm, can't you just get some red dye and dye the wool? Red dye is so readily available that should be possible even very early on. Beets from villages and red flowers are pretty common.

If they introduced it so cauldrons could wash off wool dye, I can see that helping with the issue. Though cauldrons aren't exactly the first thing you make.
Love the new colours of wool and beds. I hope they plan on adding differently coloured wood products, such as sticks, workbenches, tools, chests.

My join date and posts are a lie! My old account I lost access to. The account name is xHawkSparkz, and it contains outdated info. I'll mostly stay in RP, probably lurking, because I'm waiting for a perfect one.
It adds an unecessary mob, unecessary block, unecessary change to achievements...I don't really like this update, but i will never play it anyways, i got 1.7.10 and b1.7.3...
The only thing i like from this update, is surprisingly, the Terracota.

Nothing added to Minecraft is necessary. Redstone wasn't necessary. Cows, Sheep & such weren't necessary. Biomes weren't necessary. Minecraft itself isn't necessary. The parrots are really good mob detection, (Specifically Creeper) Illusioners are gonna add some more challenge to the Mansions. Concrete is a great flat color block, and Advancements are completely customizable, and people on reddit have found ways to abuse them to make Commandblock-less Commandblock mods.

GOOD MORNING, CRAFTERS!

That has to be a bug. There's no way it's a feature.
Trying it out, you're not doing it right. Until you collect a piece of wool or a stick again, they will be locked.
Personally, I really like the new toolbar saving and how you can finally change what buttons they are I won't lose my hotbar while sprinting anymore.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Yes, it will be fixed.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

Figured it was time for a change.
So is 17w17b just bugs fixes or what? I can't find anything about it.
So many mods, so little time.
"B" updates most often just fix bugs. http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/17w17b

Ah, I see. Thank you.

I FREAKING HATE IT
IT'S JUST A MOD
I agree it adds a lot of stuff for building!
At least the crafting guide will help with cake!
When you're going to craft a cake and you forget an ingredient. "He needs some milk!"
