I was playing the new snapshot and found an... interesting bug, to say the least. When night time came upon me, I looked down to a nearby water source in my fresh new world and realized something was a little off about it...
As you can see in the attachments, the water appeared to be glowing. Neon water, I guess? Interesting bug, frankly. Almost sort of pretty, I guess? Also, turning my render distance to 9 still makes chunks load totally improperly and glitch around all over the place like in previous updates, it just does it at the end of my render distance this time... as you can see in the other below attachment.
Any fixes?
EDIT: aaand the water is fixed as of 1.8.2 pre-6! The render distance glitch is still there, however. Any fixes for that yet?
ANOTHER EDIT: Wow, before anyone looks at this i'll have a ton of bugs to report and so many edits. It looks as if i'm having a little bit of a rendering glitch... it fixed up a little bit when I changed my render distance to 8 but sadly the villagers were still affected. Poor mutant things. Additionally, Iron Golems and Horses don't even render.
The chunk, and possibly mob, glitching problem is a problem with your graphics card; specifically, the driver, which can be resolved by updating it (heed the warning about incompatibilities on some systems; you'll have to revert if you get "pixel format not accelerated"); turning VBOs (video settings) on may also help; otherwise you'll just have to use a lower render distance (though anything below 10 introduces a bug with mob spawning, not immediately evident but they soon stop spawning).

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
