Everyone knew when the snapshots were released, the game was fine until the full release. Well it seems they have fixed some of the issues in 1.8 that will fix players lagging near water, and chunk errors. Now its your turn to speak out.
I voted no but I have a laptop so not a lot of ram or memory there.
That's not your problem, unless you have less than 2 GB of total RAM, as Optifine's creator even said here, and as I've often said when people claim that memory is the only important thing or that you need like 16 GB of RAM:
2. Why not give it more memory?
Let's give Minecraft 4 GB of RAM to play with. This would need a PC with at least 8 GB RAM (as the real memory usage is almost double the memory visible in Java). If the VM decides to use all the memory, then it will increase the time between the garbage collections (20 sec instead of 4), but it will also increase the garbage collection time by 4, so every 20 seconds there will be one massive lag spike.
In fact, if you do only have like 2 GB of system RAM you might do well to allocate less RAM, such as 512 MB (the Java process will use around 1 GB total, so if free RAM is less than that you'll run into disk swapping, one of the worst things for performance there is).
I'm not a computer expert so this looked like gibberish to me but I understand that my computer could have as much memory and ram as i want but its the game's fault. Thank you for this because I was going to spend quite a bit of money on memory for minecraft and my computer. So yes minecraft should definitely fix the lag issues.

Im trying to be more hands-on with the forums community, lesser minecraft-time. Ways to get fps boost:optifine, minecraftvtweeker, razer game booster, advanced sytem care, ccleaner, game booster, more ram allocated(at most half of your pc ram),java 8 with latest update,x64 for tose with 64x OS PM me for more ways to Increase fps.
PC specs:AMD x64 windows 8.1(OS is 6.3)x64 Intel(R)HD grahpics 4.0.0 opengl 4GB RAM(3.97 usable) Currently usin 1.8.0_25 x64 java Using minecraft tweaker 1.8.1 with OF Allocated 2GB;1GB
I go it in 2013 btw. 100-120 fps on singleplayer 30-90 fps on multiplayer(mineplex)
Dont get this computer...It heats like an oven and cools only when i off it. Cant do much about it as i am low on$$$.
4GB RAM, 32-bit and 64-bit Java 8u25 installed. 50-60 fps. Windows 8.1.
Near Water w/o Ocean Monument - 30-40 fps
Near Water w/ Ocean Monument - 1-10 fps
Near corrupted chunks - 1-20 fps
Chunk updates on corrupted chunks - 50-60 fps (what I need for smooth gameplay )
Creeper getting ready to explode - 0-5 fps
TNT Explosion - 50-60 fps
near annoying NPC Villagers/Villages - 0-2 fps (soo annoying and funny xD)
the servers always run ticks behind because of creeper explosion, and/or players discovering a new area of the map that is corrupted, or kills players in LAG. This should be corrected with chunks finally updating when you visit a new area of a map.
I am one that had fps ok with 1.8; mainly due to the VBO part. Note: I am on a laptop with only 4g ram and ok processor, not that I use that much ram for the game anyhow. 1g is fine.
Still the same as before. I don't have a monument nearby so can't really check that, but is better near water.
20-30 by default.
35-55 with VBO, which is fine by me. I can play in those numbers, well at least in single player. Multiplayer problems is due to my connection and not the game. granted this is all in 8 view distance(don't remember the actual term at the moment).
And again this is the first version in a long time that I actually got back fps that I had in 1.3.2. It was down hill from there; till this update at least.:)

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I'm typing this on a laptop with 8GB of ram.
