Hey guys, hope i can get help here.I'm 16 and i'm trying to convince my parents to get me minecraft. I've offered to pay for it myself but they still wouldn't do it. I've also been working hard in school but still nothing.I live in Malaysia so there are no premium gift codes here.Any advice??
Well, you could show them that the game is educational. I for one learned how obsidian is made in real life. It could be a good programming experience, can teach you how to work together with others. can help with mental math. I've learned how to successfully double number , from 1 to 2048 because of Minecraft. Just show them small stuff like that. Please let me know how this worked. I hope this will convince them.
When I got MC I was asked to learn to run a No GUI Linux MC server because it would be educational "Learning command line and programming at age 11"
If you are a computer person you can try the above, 1 you learn how to run a server 2 Linux unless you are using windows 3 If you do make a server you get to learn how to be and administrator, how to manage people, get to know people across the world.
Or simply say that your a teenager that wants new video games :3
On top of that you can learn to create mods, plugins and other cool stuff with java that can be used later in your life
First, ask them explain why they do not want you to play the game. If you are paying they probably have a quarrel with the actual game itself rather than the cost of said game.

Guys, guys, guys.
What you don't realize is that the killing of poor defenseless animals later influences their behaviour. The actions in a cuboid world directly translate into real life, especially with the zombies and other fake mobs.
Clear case of parents not understanding games or technology sufficiently to objectively determine if a game is suitable for their kids.
Or, the kid is lying and his parents don't want him to have free-time he doesn't deserve. I totally doubt it, but hey there are probably a few legitimate reasons as for this.
The first thing OP should do is determine why they wont let him. Once he figures that out, he can try to use that to his advantage, or at least know the meanings behind his parents decision.
I won't call you childish or so, but you are asking for help with YOUR parents. I'd be glad to help you in anything you needed, but asking for permission to buy a game??
I know minecraft is educational, but like in every kind of videogames, there are persons who don't see further than the keyboard and monitor. I mean, for your parents, you could be a minecraft genious or a total creep in terms of videogaming.
Why have they sai dNO? Try buying a ps3, ps4 or simply wait for somebody to buy you one account. You can even purchase it on almost any videogame store.
Hell no, don't get him a console. It would be a waste of money and takes away the learning expiriences he could have.

That is true. You should not buy a console just on the off-chance that your parents will let you buy minecraft on there. Minecraft Console edition sucks compared to PC Version anyway.

Most parents hate games like minecraft regardless of how fun and educational it is compared to all the other games out there. Usually, parents just see it as a stupid game with 90's graphics and don't want their kids wasting $26 on it. Other times, they just hate video games in general because they never had games like this when they were young, so they are jealous and don't want their kids playing it.
I think if you explain the educational aspect of the game they might change their minds, the base game is slightly educational but some of the mods condense years of knowledge into a quick and easy to learn package. Minecraft is a serious tool in easily teaching computer programming, chemistry, engineering, electrical engineering, basic quantum physics, and nuclear physics using real world information. Many schools worldwide are now taking advantage of the game as a teaching platform.
Suggested educational mods.
Computer Craft - Teaches the Lua programming language
Electrical Age - Near perfect simulation of electricity and electrical engineering
Q Craft - Teaches basic quantum Physics
MineChem - Teaches basic and advanced chemistry
Rotary Craft - Teaches mechanical engineering
Reactor Craft and Nuclear Craft - Teach basics of nuclear physics
This list is just a small selection of the educational and extremely entertaining mods available.

If your parents focus on the negative things, it does have a small part at the end showing how minecraft is not fun for everyone, it has a bit about how a player was mean to another player, it does also have the "b" word,
I really enjoyed the article, but depending on your age and what you like... It's kinda a minecraft article for grown ups! ;D
So if you think your parents won't focus on the one negative part, and want to know how minecraft is educational and stuff like that, I would show them that article!
hope this helps! If you need anymore help just let me know!

If you offered to pay for it yourself and they said no is like you asking if you can make a sandwich yourself and them saying no.
Unless you have strict parents that padlock the fridge. Thats really dumb.
