I've been a fan of Minecraft since release, played it the whole time until about this year I'd say. I did everything, Factions, Prison, SMP, Singleplayer, Heavily Modded, Lightly Modded, Zombies, Mineplex, you name it. I even made a youtube channel, got like 40k views. I'm now noticing that youtubers I used to like who did primarily Minecraft are getting wayyyy less views. Ex. Antvenom, almost 2 million subs and gets 1k-2k views on each video. A lot of the Mindcrackers who used to be insanely popular are also now getting substacially less views. Anyone know what's up? I'd be sad to see Minecraft go, it was probably the game that had the most impact on me as a person. Thoughts?
Considering it wasn't dying when a thread just like this was made last year, or the year before that, or the year before that one too, I'll lean towards no.
So what do you think about the big Minecraft youtubers losing massive audiences? Just the nature of Youtube?
Basing popularity of a game off of Youtube is like basing the popularity of Call of Duty off of Youtube, CoD channels aren't that common nowadays, however the game is still hella popular. Just the nature of Youtube and how the popularity of certain genres fluctuates.
Anyways, no the game is not dying.

Speaking only of myself, I don't watch YouTube Minecrafters as much anymore because, as someone has previously stated, there are just so darn many of them, and the gaps in my to-watch list just keep growing. @_@ But I'm NOT AT ALL slowing down on playing the game. Games are interactive, unlike YouTube, and sitting on your butt for hours and staring isn't as much fun as building castles. So, YTers are losing views on me because of this.
I feel that while the older tuber's arent getting quite as many views anymore, the newer ones (the pack, and the cube as well as crundee) are getting insane amounts of support. I think a lot of with the mindcrackers and older ones is that theyre original fans are no longer into minecraft. Its a block game and as people age it will lose and gain popularity. I think its just getting into a new age of the game. Personal opinions only.

Most people have played by now, and some are probably getting bored after all this time.

it's going to be developers thinking a slow development cycle is appropriate, that is causing this.
That's not really true. Someone could be a fan of 2 games at once. However, someone may be bored about one game, so that could be true.

A little bit, Although I expect the dying process to rocket over the next year.

The Minecraft video market of youtube is over-saturated because there are so many videos and youtubers uploading minecraft content.
I hope you understand that we see these threads almost every day.
Minecraft isn't dying. Actually, it's thriving. There's tons of players.
In my opinion though, the community sucks. All of the youtubers are stupid and unoriginal, especially Skydoesminecraft.
The death of SMP is a sad thing. Minigames are stupid and pointless to me. Minecraft is a creative game.
Roblox started out creative but then evolved to Minigames. Why does this always happen to creative games?
TL;DR:
Minecraft isn't dead, but SMP is. It's been choked by minigames.

SMP may be a dying breed of servers, however there are plenty of servers that still provide a SMP experience.

Just a totally unprofessional guess, but I'll bet HoloLens can give it a good-sized boost. Assuming it gets out, of course. XD
Well, I hope you realize that some players like me like minigames.
Also I like Minecraft youtubers too.
My server is only getting progressively more active, I wouldn't think it's close to dying at all.
