So, I want to talk about how Minecraft is being ruined, and how it is no longer fun.
Firstly, there are way too many hackers, and admins don't do anything about it. And by hacking I don't mean that simple "OMG HE KILLED ME WAHHH" I mean people mass killing everyone from 20 blocks away and no one can move off of the spawn, that's what I mean. There are A LOT of hackers, and every game I play in there are at least 3 hackers (Yes, seriously, my friend is an admin and I see him ban people all the time).
Secondly, the amount of immature children on this game is ridiculous. Whether it be them not putting up a fight, or the rage at other people that say something bad about the game, it's just horrible. (Oh watch all the hate comments flow in). The children are just as bad as the children on Call of Duty (and why are children playing a game where you shoot people again)?
Finally, this game is turning into a pay to win game. I put 5 new servers on my list, and all 5 were impossible to play without spending real world money, as people who pay 100 dollars gets a HUGE advantage and are nearly invincible. Badlion is another one of these servers, as the only way to get into a UHC game is to get extremely lucky, or pay money.

I think it all depends on the server you play on. Find a small server which no one really knows of yet, and play on there. Or, start one with friends/play SSP.
Most of these problems are server-related, not the actual game. Those 5 servers are breaking the EULA, and so you should report them. Mojang and Microsoft have no relation to these pay-to-win servers. And the little kids, don't get on a public server that everyone knows about with bad staff and awful community *cough* Mineplex *cough* and instead either find or create a small little server with few people or just some of your friends.

I've taught myself to handle the annoying players, but the thing that really gets me are the ranks.
I know that people who own servers have to keep up the server and blah blah blah, but the ranks have gotten out of hand. Many ranks are pricey these days, but nothing is done. Because it is condoned, and unmonitored, servers go out of their way to jack up prices on ranks.
When it is not on sale, one rank on A server I once participated on can cost around $800 USD. Thats much! And talk about OP with the ranks... Last time I had checked this rank basically gives people mod powers in some categories.
I Googled it, and many places offer iPhone 6 plus models for less than $800 USD. iPhone 6 plus for less than a MC rank... Think about that. Let that run through your mind.
One sub-topic on the subject of ranks, is idealization. Often, players will end up putting people with ranks on a pedestal, making the ranked players look like gods. This brings so much attention to the ones who used there valuable money for a rank, which in myopinion is not worth it, and will often make other players seem unworthy of speaking on a server and joining chats.
The sole purpose of player ranks and what they are supposed to be used for is abused. Servers charge too much now. I find it sad.
MC should be a welcoming game, not one that is used to take money from the credit cards of parents around the world, just so their kids can have cool kits and bypass chat filters and what not.

This is why we Realm it up for MP.
INb4 no mods. There are ways to direct connect without servers when we want that. If Realms gets around to mods, we won't have to worry about that either.
The op has a valid point about how servers are becoming p2w. I've reported servers for breaking the EULA and nothing ever happened. My report was very detailed and had plenty of proof. Mojang also has a policy of not responding to reports, so you'll never know if it is even read unless the server actually gets taken down. But I don't know of any servers that were taken down. One server I know of has ranks that cost $100. And it lets donators use world edit which frequently causes the server to crash because so many people abuse it. I'm talking about a large, well-known server, with a co-owner that actually been acknowledged by Mojang in the past. So they aren't under the radar or anything, and I'm sure they've been reported.
As for hackers, I will say they exist, but I've never seen them mass kill everyone, that sounds more like admin abuse. The ones I encountered could use fly hacks and were pretty much invincible at PVP, but they never gave me a problem. In fact they were all very nice to me and some even worked for me during a pretty large scale war. I can understand why people would be frustrated by them though, especially in PVP. I don't hack, and currently don't affiliate with any hackers. But I will say they were very useful to me going against a dozen different towns funded by whales on a p2w server. So please don't hate all hackers, some of them are still great people even though they cheat at this game to compete with other cheaters.
I've been playing single player survival for years with no complaints. From what I hear though multiplayer & PVP servers have always had problems like that.
I don't think the problem is necessarily getting worse though. If anything there are now more tools available to server owners to catch/punish/ban cheaters.

Well, you can just be as bad as those immature kids by complaining all the time about the game. There are so threads out there on the same topic.
There are none you fool!
You just summarized why I play SSP.
Single player, or start your own server with friends. I think everyone knows that public servers are a bunch of trash by now, ye?

It kind of is. You have to pay money to get cool kits and such. Makes people who steal their parents' credit card extremely OP.

IGN: Selchie Superwholock is the fandom, therefore I'm a bit random...

All the paid ranks get are private servers (lame btw), and something like 10,000 coins a month for chests that you open and can get vanity items...
It's one of the more rule-abiding server out there.
