since the bounty full update there is no new content in minecraft
only fix totally useless to survival single player...
Is it what minecradt gonna be like now? 0 new content only useless fix
I don't play multiplayer no good server.....
except if someone can point me out a server with some kind of real medieval setting, with king/lord relationship and real war between armies and not just that cheap raiding the other player when he is offline.
Because you see my view on pvp is actually fighting other player , raiding someone offline isn't pvp to me.
but the real question can we still hope for some actual new content in the game one day? I mean they barely scratch the surface of all the stuff they can add into this game to make it the greatest sandbox ever...... but they are still far from it....
Mojang aren't miracle workers. They don't just provide updates every week or so. Right now they're working on 1.9, but a lot has to be done. Coding, programming, etc. And they will continue to update Minecraft with in-game features and optimizations. Don't expect a complete neglect just because they haven't updated in months. If you remember, the 1.8 update took 300 days to complete. If you could handle nearly 300 days with nothing but 1.7, you cant wait for a few months till 1.9 comes out or another update.
well I m asking because all other sandbox game I own progress way faster than minecraft and they add content more regularly than minecraft...... when in fact minecraft has a larger player base more money and a larger team .... so it can be really questionable....

Are your other sandbox games in Early Access, or below 1.0? Minecraft has already reached 1.0. It's not like they absolutely had to keep working their butts off.
Adding new content to Minecraft is very slow, in part because of the vast number of languages it supports. In the mods I've made, translating the names of items is a major bottleneck, and I only support 5 languages.
As for other games, I'm not sure which games you are using for comparison, but my experience has been that most games have a lot of DLC content pushed out for the next 2 years, with little or no support after that. Minecraft (post-beta) is 4 years old now and I'm a little surprised that they are still working on new game mechanics for Minecraft.
Version 1.9 will be the first update since Microsoft purchased Minecraft and they are probably going to try to impress us to prove that they will be good stewards of the Minecraft franchise, which of course means lots of development time.

Just because another game and company progress faster than Mojang and Minecraft, it doesn't mean it's an excuse they'll move faster. Mojang can take all the time they want to release an update, but they need to prepare everything. Stuff like this isn't easy, you should try programming a game and optimizing it so it runs well with the rest of the game. It can be questionable, but not obvious.
Are your other sandbox games in Early Access, or below 1.0? Minecraft has already reached 1.0. It's not like they absolutely had to keep working their butts off.
I see 1.8.7, but it feels like a 0.16.7 to me. The game still feels very incomplete.
I remember the days when you bought a video game and that was what you got: there were no updates (frequently including no bug fixes) and indeed no way to distribute updates even if someone made them. Also, in order to play your game you had to walk two miles, uphill both ways, in a blizzard.
So I'm coming at it from the mindset that after the game goes into full release, getting new content for free is gravy.
(I do kinda wish we'd get 1.9 snapshots soon, though. Not because I'm bored of 1.8 -- I just started playing late last year, I haven't had anywhere near time to get bored yet -- but because there are a few projects I'd like to undertake and I'd like to know whether changes in 1.9 are going to break them before I start. If I build an Enderman farm, is the new 1.9 Ender Dragon going to come along and destroy it? Will we still be able to use Iron Golems in a gold farm? That sort of thing.)

Well Mojang's update add more. Plus their a smaller team than most developers. Also their game is "released". They have no obligation to continue updating this game.
They have been planning out 1.9 right after if not before they were bought out by Microsoft. I figure they have been working on legal issues rather than 1.9 for a while. Just be patient.

If you ask me, personally i think the developers at mojang are lazy, as you see there are a great deal of modifications out there some of which are really great, and i believe that if mojang wanted to they could absorb some of the good ideas out there and improve upon them and implement them into minecraft, but unfortunately they don't care to do so.
For example
Mo-creatures, has had a horse included inside of it's add-on for several years before minecraft ever added the horse, yet when they did they improved on the concept unfortunately it was a minute change and a drawn out one.
There are a whole slew of concepts that deserve to be added to the original format that is minecraft, for example the Aether modification.
Is it to much to ask for that they add bloody sharks or dolphins; hell why not both?
I think not.
Minecraft has the potential to be one of the most expansive games in history yet they rely to much on third party content instead of creating original content of there own and i find that shameful at the least.
And personally i love the concept of third party content, my problem is the compatibility between them and that is why i believe mojang should dedicate worthy concepts as original content.

Personally I don't really want things like sharks or dolphins, I'd much rather see more unique mobs like the Guardian.
I don't think it's that they're lazy, I think it's that there are effectively only 2 people actually adding content to the game, Jeb and Dinnerbone. Searge and Grum do backend stuff and bug fixes, and TheMogMiner doesn't work there anymore after certain events, so as of now the team is the smallest it's ever been for a long time. It's almost worse than when Notch was working on the game.
If there were more people on the team I'm sure more would get done. Meanwhile the Pocket Edition seems to get a constant supply of new employees for its team.
I understand there development team is small but at the very least they have massive profits and they could use that to better improve upon there original creation by hiring a team of staff to dedicate third party content, most of the modifications out there are made by individuals i am sure a well trained and rounded staff of at least 10 people can dish out a reasonable amount at a reasonable rate; content.
Minecraft was practically made in the basement of notch.
And my mention of sharks and dolphins was just to emphasize the scope of small things they could add to improve the game, i personally would like to see large developments of other dimensions like the Aether.
minecraft has made around 1350000000$ in sales as it has sold over 54 million copies at an exchange rate of 25$ a copy.
there expenses are very few as minecraft platform is digital distribution and with an already made market for advertising they need little to none in regards to there advertising budget therefore they have to pay for staff which would come about to a very small % of there profit margin.
I am sure they have enough doe to make some more original content.
To note they have enough money to build over 6750 houses, which is the equivalent of paying 6750 staff a salary of 200,000$.
They can hire enough staff to improve the game and make significant profits without even denting there reserves.
for example sharks could likely be added within a matter less then 1 day with a staff of 3 people working average work hours with average work pay, the Aether modification would take them no more then 1 or 2 days tops as all content is already there, they simply have to add it to the original files and ensure it's compatibility.
To design a modification at that level would take them no more then 1 week.
Much of that money appears to have been invested in porting Minecraft to mobile computers and game consoles, which are starting to have interesting features not found in the PC version. Microsoft demoed a virtual reality version using the holo lens at E3 last week.
I'm not an expert in business, but I've seen enough to know that just looking at the profits report is very misleading. Businesses never sit on a pile of money because bank accounts have very low interest rates so they can make much much more money by investing in something. You'd have to read the quarterly financial report to see where the money is going.

Indeed that may be the case, but somewhere out of that 1 billion dollars in profit has to be enough money to aquire a dedicated team of at least 5 members of staff to import already created content and to dedicate it so there will be no compatibility issues, for example they can even create a poll on there site where members vote modifications to be dedicated to the original files.
It's not that difficult.
and yes the banks would be a significant drain on there reserves although i am not sure how there relationship with the banks are as the original concept was basement made and not taken out on loan so i am pretty sure the original expenses should not be that high in comparison with there interests rates by the time it hit the market it did fairly well and i am sure it had enough money to pay off the majority if not all of any of the original investments.
the only thing i can see being a major drain on there reserves is the marketing front mojang as the company shares might be high in regards to there current reserves.
and honestly i care nothing about any other platform then the PC, personally i dislike so much effort being put into the pocket edition to me it is a waste of resources as the pocket edition is already limited by the factors of it's own platform.

Another MMO game that was co-created by Notch is making leaps and bounds when it comes to adding new content, despite the game only having ONE developer, and less than a thousand active players. Every month or two they add new mobs, new furniture, new items, new Gods, etc. There is no excuse for Mojang's glacial work pace. Stop making excuses for them. They are not your buddies. They are not doing this for you. They're in this for the money, your money, and they are slacking. Not only are they failing to deliver content on what is considered an acceptable basis in every other MMO, they are failing to enforce the EULA which is causing us to be plagued with p2w servers and bad administration. No, they are currently making 1.9. I hope it will feature something actually useful and not just trinkets and knick - knacks.
