Why is Minecraft turning into a pay-to-win game? It is ridiculously hard to find a server that doesnt give donators game-changing advantages? Seriously! Every server that I connect to and play on gives donators special 'kits' that when redeemed, give them items without any work required. Most of these items include enchanted armor and weapons that aren't possible to obtain in singleplayer. Take ArkhamNetwork for example. In the prison server, the Kingpin rank has a kit that gives them Protection 5 armor. The only way to obtain that is by donating, and not everyone can spew out money.
Another issue that I would like to address is the alarming number of cheaters in the game. People that simply download clients such as Huzuni, or Kronos, and cheat. It is completely unfair for other players. For example, I was playing Bridges on Mineplex a few days ago, when suddenly people start dying by someone with a sword. Now, if you dont know what bridges is, you have a 10 minute build period where you can collect resources and at the end of the 10 minutes, bridges are built between the islands and you can cross them to pvp. Last team remaining wins. However, someone took 5 minutes to download a hacked client, then logged on and started flying to other islands, circling people midair, and hitting them with a frequency unobtainable without using an external program. If you dont believe me, here are a few screenshots. Notice on the scoreboard to the right, it says how many minutes are remaining.
Some people would argue that donating is completely fair, that if they pay money, they should have a reward. However, do you "donate" to charity in hopes of getting a reward? Donating is supposed to be an act of support, selflessly. No, this "donating" is more like paying someone to give you game-changing items and perks. That's exactly what it is! And "hacking" is just downloading something to play the game for you. What happened to the Minecraft community? What happened to those people that just wanted to play the game as it was? I'm sure that I'm not the only person feeling like this. I find myself watching other people play the game more than I play it myself, because I have such bad experiences. I find myself clicking that Singleplayer button more and more. I know not everyone is going to share the same view as me, and I'm not expecting it, but what do you think? How do you feel about what Minecraft is becoming?
Pay to win is being made against the rules by the new Minecraft EULA. While some do still exist, they will soon be weeded out and eventually will become nearly nonexistent. Unfortunately, as for the cheaters, this really does exist in just about any online game you will ever play. There are always people out there that are only out to ruin the experience of others. Try not to let them.

Sadly true, innit? Some people just need to grow the bleep up.
lol you are looking in the wrong place for servers. Don't look on top, where all the big fat servers with tons of money and votes and players are. You have to look deeper. The best place to find servers are Minecraft forums, and the newest added servers on server list sites.
That's not Mojang's fault. It's the people that run those servers. Sounds like you need to work a little hard and find better servers. OR... even better. Get your own server!!!
TOTALLY AGREE! I played on smashercraft with my buddy and we would work for like 2 months and then get raided by someone with quantum armor which was banned unless donated $60.00!!!! It was a tekkit server and just that stuff totally ruins the experience! Good thread totally agree but put this in like servers next time this isn't minecraft problem its more of a server problem!

No pay to win, cheaters and griefers are dealt with properly, plenty of helpful players.
If it is, then I'm glad cause ranking will be based on experience and prestige in building ( like with creative servers, etc. ) :Diamond::mossystone:
