Look, I'm not saying that it IS dead, nor am I saying that the game is horrible in general. I'm just here to here your feedback on what you think was the best version of minecraft. In my opinion it was Beta 1.3 This game has been becoming more and more popular each year. In my opinion, I think that minecraft died a little. This is because I think I'm bias. I just like the game in Beta because it was harder to survive. Now, you can find diamonds within the first 30 minutes of playing. Back in beta, you would have to play a week or so to find maybe 2 diamonds. Please give me some raw feedback on what you think was the best version of minecraft and why you think that.
Heck no! Minecraft will never be dead as long as these forums are active and new updates are put out. Since both are happening, I can assure you that Minecraft is still alive and healthy. (I play for hours and can't find diamonds!) Minecraft is a different game than before, but it's changed for the better.
We just need to hope that Mojang doesn't do anything incredibly stupid.
...
And the fact that people have learned efficient mining techniques is bad why? The rarity of diamonds hasn't changed at all, which is why it really bothers me when people are like "HUR DUR I GET DIAMONDS TOO FAST NOTCH/JEB FIX IT DDDDDDDD:"
Also, don't use CamelCase. It's Minecraft, not MineCraft.
Maybe it's just easier for the veterans from early beta and late alpha, because they have played the game for quite some time now. And no, Minecraft might die in about a decade, maybe, due to much better games coming out, but it's not anywhere in that phase as of now.
._ . Two weeks to find diamonds... I have played since the VERY first weeks when I heard about this game and when Diamonds were there I could find them within the first hour or so, the only thing that makes it easy now if people know where to look and MODs.
OT: The only thing that made beta harder than before was unstackable food, And as for the diamonds, Diamonds were much more common in beta.
And the lack of hunger (regeneration), sprinting, a lack of potions and enchanting, and armor that wasn't OP. Diamonds may have been more common in Beta but only if you strip mined.

I don't think Minecraft died a little or did die, all they made was to add the hunger bar to make it feel more like of a... adventury game. Of course, stacking food can make survival easier, but along with new items comes less space to put items in your inventory, and having 4 porkchops in 4 inventory slots is really a huge waste. I think they added the stacking of foods because you can stack food in real life.
Of course, I may be wrong. And chances are I AM wrong.
My favorite version is 1.9 when the full adventure update is released. 1.8-1.9 is the full release of the adventure update. Hunger and lots of new stuff (including sprinting I think)
Far from it, but probably only because it's the only game of it's kind.
And the lack of hunger (regeneration), sprinting, a lack of potions and enchanting, and armor that wasn't OP. Diamonds may have been more common in Beta but only if you strip mined.
1. Pigs in Beta will respawn very frequent, so it wasn't a though task to get meat.
2.Mushroom Stew healed all your hearts if eaten, plus mushrooms would spread nearly twice as fast as now, don't forget, there was no limit on mushrooms back then
3. Raw Porkchops healed 3 health, making it another ease.
When I was playing in Beta 1.2 I would find diamonds on the first day of playing. Also, surviving wasn't that hard since the AI was half-retarded, and even if food didn't stack, eating steak would put you up probably half of your health instantly.
If anything, the hunger bar made things harder since even if you had food you can't regen unless your bar has less than 1 1/2 units missing, and you cant fill your health instantly. You have to wait for it to regen.
1. Pigs in Beta will respawn very frequent, so it wasn't a though task to get meat.
On the other hand, those pigs would only heal a set amount of health. In beta 1.7.3, 1 porkchop=4 hearts. In 1.4.7, 1 porkchop can equal 10 hearts.
2.Mushroom Stew healed all your hearts if eaten, plus mushrooms would spread nearly twice as fast as now, don't forget, there was no limit on mushrooms back then
Mushroom stew only healed 5 hearts, not 10. Also, we didn't have giant mushrooms back then, which is by far a more efficient source of mushrooms.
3. Raw Porkchops healed 3 health, making it another ease.
However, health regenerates in 1.4.7, combined you have enough hunger. While, yes, a little food is usually worth more than a lot of food in 1.7.3 compared to 1.4.7, food is REALLY abundant. Seriously, you can have a ton of bread, meat, and carrots early on. Combined with stacking food, you'll get far more health out of 1.4.7's system than you will from 1.7.3's.
Not to mention that you had to refill health more often in 1.7.3, since armor was less effective (i'm not kidding) and it was harder to dodge attacks, equating to even more damage. 1.4.7's porkchop goes a long way compared to the instant health from 1.7.3.
But this isn't about difficulty. PM me if you want to continue this.

No, Minecraft isn't dead. If you think it is easy to find diamonds, don't look for them. If you think it is too easy to survive, play on hard with no armour or food. If you enjoy the older versions more there are mods for that.
To be honest, I don't think Minecraft will die for another decade or so. That's usually how long things last. Let's just enjoy the game while it's still popular.

Along with the thread complaining about 1.8 Beta.

Support this now!

EVERYONE.
It was a bit of sarcasm. I mean cool by, "Everyone is doing it, so it must be cool!"
