Make sure to remember, not all 20M registered users bought the game. Also, most of the purchases came from alpha and beta, meaning that most people got the game for a fraction of the price. I only bought minecraft for $15 because I bought it in alpha. And you have to take out expenses from buying their offices, paying their employees, and running their servers.
Minecraft only has around like ten staff members so they are earning millions.
Only stakeholders with an ownership share in the company like Notch would be earning "millions" any employees would just be earning a normal salary...
...And since they are based in Sweden which has close to the highest taxes in the world they end up paying a little more than half of every dollar they make to the government there.
10,868,000 : 2 = 5434000 (current minecraft premium accounts : first was $14 and now $27) 5434000 x $13,322 = $72405070 (slice of minecraft premium accounts x from beta 1.8 to nowdays price) 5435000 x $26.95 = $146473250 (slice of minecraft premium accounts x nowdays price)
$72405070 + $146473250 = $218878320
Approx. 218,878,320$
Congrats, you have just revived a topic that was made over a year ago! You're Necrocadamy Scholarship will be rewarded, congrats!

Minor dupstep... Doomsday. DUBWUBWUBWUB, WUBDUBDUBDUB, DUMDUMUMDUM, WUBWUBWUBWUB!
This is only gross pay. Not to mention everything else they spend money on, Minecon, merchandise, pay employees, all the nice things that they get (have you seen there place?), etc. I would say they might have about $60mil.
$25 a account, jinx is partnered with them, selling stuff. Tekkit is also, ect. the workers dont get paid all that much, because all the money goes into server running, coding, and more computers and workers
Well how much did they make in the past 24 hours? 15,133 * $26.95 = $407,834.35. With that much money you can afford a house or possibly a few employees for a full year, two, or three. So I think realistically we can say they made enough to be set for a while. And from the way Scrolls is going right now, I'm sure Mojang will be fine for a while.
i wold say billions if you look at minecraft.net 100 milione donloaded it!
BUT only 10.something million have bought it. 80 million or so of those have downloaded but not bought it. It's like saying "5 people have downloaded my 5 dollar game so I have 25 dollars!" BUT what if 4 of them are simply playing the demo and haven't bought it? Then you only have 5 dollars.

Swedish taxes. It would be more like half of that.
What about the t shirts i bught one or two yesterday!
After the taxes and the J!NX cut they probably don't make more than a couple hundred a day at most out of T-shirts. Except around christmas and stuff like that.

Jeb has said before that Notch does what would be referred to as overpaying people. Mojang employees make a lot of money. I remember Jeb saying it was over 25$ an hour, plus they have fridays as casual day where they play games for a little while in between coding. They get paid for that.

They're game coders though. Playing games=inspiration.
Mojang has made €66.4M = $84.2M
Wow, 84.2 Million Dollars TOTAL!
And, 66.4 Million Euros!
And everyday....they make 370K a DAY! WOW!
Well, I'm always impressed by Mojang all time.
and this is quite amazing.
Btw, these are just estimates, just about 8/10 accurate.
Also, congrats for have 20M Users of Minecraft.

What in the world did you calculate? xD
I did a simple, 4,651,03 (members bought the game) x 20 (approximate price) and got ~9.3 Million USD.
And that's not even remotely accurate. The game was half off for Alpha if I remember right, and was still not full priced during beta..
Missed a digit. :tongue.gif: To lazy to fix.
Its alright, but yeah, I had to calculate Alpha and Beta, which took a little research to find out about how much was sold during that time.

Still $200,000+ per day.
